Alan Ritchson Is Hosting A Brand-New Survival Competition Series On Netflix

If someone offered you your pick of a celebrity to help you survive the wilderness, I think a lot of us are going to choose Jack Reacher—I mean, Alan Ritchson. The man who makes Henry Cavill look tiny is expanding his work with Netflix. First, War Machine, and now it’s reality TV.

The global streamer announced this week that it was launching a new survival competition series from Bunim/Murray Productions. The platform already has Outlast, a wilderness survival competition series where a group of people must survive as a team by any means necessary.

As noted by Netflix’s TUDUM, the streamer’s blog platform used for announcements and interviews, Alan Ritchson is an avid survivalist, which should help him guide the participants through the competition, pushing them beyond their limits and into the unknown.

The series’s showrunner, Jay Bienstock, is known for launching series including Survivor and has signed on as an executive producer, alongside Ritchson, Julie Pizzi, Rupert Dobson, Gayani Wanigaratne, and co-executive producer John Faratzis.

But we don’t know much about Alan Ritchson’s new survival reality series, at least here is what we do know.

What to expect from the Alan Ritchson survival reality TV series?

The series is set to test the resilience and grit of a group of high-profile influencers and headline-makers. With all the comforts and luxuries of modern-day life stripped away, the players will have to rely on their instincts, determination, and each other to outlast the competition and discover who they are without fame and followers.

And with promotional announcements including questions like: “Do they have what it truly takes to endure? Will they risk losing their carefully curated personas in the process? And who will break first under the pressure?” —I think it’s safe to say that this new reality competition series is going to put “celebs” under pressure in a way similar to Bear Grylls’ Netflix series, Celebrity Bear Hunt. Only I doubt Ritchson will be hunting down contestants like Bear does.

What is the release date?

The new survival competition reality series has just been announced and does not have a name just yet, meaning that we will probably have to wait some time until we get the release date.
