Some of Netflix’s best KDrama series have been adapted from webcomics and webnovels. So it’s no surprise that the streamer has yet another one on the way. Netflix has officially announced the production of Take Charge of My Heart, a new romantic comedy series that will star Kim Young-kwang and Chae Soo-bin. The series follows a man with an artificial heart and a woman who holds the unique ability to recharge him, promising a fresh take on the K-romance genre.
The platform will serve as the exclusive distributor for the show and will be able to introduce audiences to the story written initially by Haebeon as a Naver web novel. The original novel is best described as a mature romance (19+), though it has been adapted to a 13+ and a 15+ edition with 65 total chapters. The cover art pretty much explains it all.
With more Netflix KDramas featuring more intimate and mature scenes, it will be interesting to see if the production adapts the 15+ or 19+ versions of Haebeon’s story.
What is Take Charge of My Heart?
The series is a fantasy romantic comedy centered on Baek Ho-rang, a powerful third-generation chaebol heir. While he is a masterful strategist and a strong contender for his family’s corporate leadership, he harbors a secret: a low-battery artificial heart.
Amidst a high-stakes power struggle, he encounters a woman with a mysterious electrical power, Na Bo-bae, who can recharge his heart. In an unexpected twist, he offers her a deal she cannot refuse, setting the stage for their unusual romance.
Cast and Characters

Kim Young-kwang (Trigger, On Your Wedding Day) as Baek Ho-rang: A third-generation chaebol heir leading one of the nation’s top conglomerates’ resorts. A gifted businessman skilled in strategizing and execution, he is a strong candidate to take over the group’s leadership role — if not for his unspoken secret and only weakness: beneath his impeccable facade beats an artificial heart.
Amid fierce power struggles with his heart battery running low, he encounters Na Bo-bae, a miraculous woman capable of recharging his battery. In an unplanned move, he offers her a contract she can’t refuse.
Chae Soo-bin (When the Phone Rings, The Fabulous) as Na Bo-bae: A screenwriter with a looming deadline to finish a romance screenplay before her contract expires. Stuck by lightning as a child, she has electrical currents coursing through her body, making it impossible for her to even hold hands with someone she likes. When she meets Baek Ho-rang, the only person who doesn’t flinch at the touch, she finally has the opportunity to jumpstart her love life.
