Ubisoft Shares The Expansion of The Division Franchise

The Division 2 Roadmap from Ubisoft

Ubisoft announced the next chapter in the The Division franchise. While the most recent titles haven’t been critically well-received, the studio and publisher are looking to reinvigorate the once beloved franchise with two new announcements for the franchise’s future state, with DLC and the release of one new title: The Division 2 and The Division: Resurgence.

Additionally, the roadmap for the franchise also included other titles for 2025 in sequential order: The Division 2: Crossroads, The Division 2: The Pact, The Division Resurgence, and The Division 2: Mutiny (see image above). So, if it wasn’t apparent, the studio is investing in keeping one of its best franchise titles alive and well with not just one new DLC with Survivors, but with three more this year alone as well.

The Division 2 Survivors

The game is currently in the early stages of development, under the leadership of Magnus Jansén as Creative Director, who is a veteran of the series from the early days of the original game. Survivors is an updated take on the survival extraction experience, similar to the original Division’s Survival DLC. Ubisoft will be closely involving the community in the development process as it moves forward.

“The Division 2: Survivors is as much your baby as it is ours, and we strive for transparency during its development. Clear communication and community involvement are a focus as we build the new experience, and we will be closely involving you as we move forward on the development journey,” Julian Gerighty, Executive Producer, stated in a release to media.

The Division Resurgence

The Division: Resurgence key art from Ubisoft

The Division Resurgence is a free-to-play mobile RPG shooter MMO, offering the same gameplay experience as the original games, but adapted to mobile gaming. Resurgence takes players back to the streets of Manhattan, set several months after the conclusion of the first game

With a familiar map updated to reflect the passage of time, the Division Resurgence will bridge the narrative gap between the Division 1 and 2, adding to the existing lore with additional story beats over time.

As Ubisoft prepares to create a new community, the developer plans to have a testing phase in September 2025. A closed test on both iOS and Android will allow us to gather your feedback and insights, with further test sessions to follow. Join the test here.
