Velan Studios has officially released Midnight Murder Club after five months of early access. The game is a first-person shooter that blends the tension of a horror game with the chaos of a party game. The full release introduces a new PVE mode, a unique Guest Pass system, and various Wildcard modifiers.

This Thursday, Velan Studios’ spooky, laugh-out-loud multiplayer shooter Midnight Murder Club is stepping out of Early Access and into its full release on PlayStation 5 and PC with crossplay and cross-progression. What is Midnight Murder Club?

If you’re not familiar, Midnight Murder Club can best be described as “hide, seek, and shoot.” Midnight Murder Club is a chaotic and hilarious horror party game where every match is a new tale of screaming, surprises, and stumbling through the dark.

Surrounded by your favorite troublemakers and armed with only a flashlight and a revolver, you’ll tiptoe and whisper your way through traps, toys, and chaos, where proximity chat turns whispers into jump scares and chaos into comedy.

In the game, you’ll conceal your identity behind a mask and join friends in a game of perception, deception, and sharpshooting. The difference between light and dark is important as members are forced to choose between the safety of darkness and the risk of clicking on a flashlight.

One of the game’s most significant elements is proximity chat, which means every whisper and footstep can give away your position. Additionally, flashlights provide information, but also make you a target. Players must weigh the risk of revealing themselves to get a kill against the benefit of remaining hidden in the dark.

New ‘Graveyard Shift’ Co-op Mode

The full release of Midnight Murder Club introduces “Graveyard Shift,” a brand-new PVE mode playable solo or with a friend. In this mode, you must find and cleanse cursed Golden Relics hidden around the mansion while fending off various demons from hell.

  • Flaming Skulls fly through the air and explode into fireballs.
  • Shadow Men are invisible except for their shadows, ambushing you from the dark.
  • Hunters have night vision and a thirst for your blood.
  • Cleansing relics earns you Blessings, but taking too long will make the mansion more cursed and your job more difficult.

Wildcards Boost Midnight Murder Club’s Replayability

The “Wildcards” game mode lets you bend and break the rules with a set of cards selected before a round. With dozens of cards across categories like Game Modes, Toys, Blessings, and Curses, millions of combinations are possible.

  • Bear Trap Trouble fills the mansion with traps that lock players in place.
  • Falling Chandelier gives you the ability to drop a chandelier on anyone below.
  • Fire Trap makes victims explode into a giant fireball upon death, causing chain reactions.
  • Shrink Shot gives a second chance at life, shrinking you to half-size with a squeaky voice when shot.
  • Mixing and matching these Wildcards creates fun and unpredictable new ways to play with friends.

Guest Pass Lets Friends Play For Free

Velan Studios designed Midnight Murder Club with friends in mind and is launching with a unique Guest Pass system. Only one person needs to own the game for everyone else to join in at no additional cost. Friends can download the Guest Pass Edition on PlayStation 5 or Steam and join via an invite or Lobby Code.

Midnight Murder Club will release August 14, 2025 on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
