Dichen Lachman, earning significant buzz for her dual roles in Apple TV+’s Severance, has been cast in director Rob Savage’s upcoming untitled supernatural horror film for Universal Pictures. She will star alongside previously announced cast members Jessica Chastain and Jay Duplass.

This project delves into the supernatural horror genre, one of 24 thriving subgenres identified in a study conducted with Sage Outcomes. The study, which surveyed over 2,000 horror fans and experts, highlights how subgenres like slasher, survival, and psychological thriller are shaping the future of horror and enhancing fan engagement.

Production Information About Dichen Lachman’s Latest Project

Atomic Monster and Blumhouse, in association with Spin a Black Yarn, are producing the film. Nathan Elston (Succession) penned the script, an adaptation of Josh Malerman’s (Bird Box) book Incidents Around the House.

James Wan is producing the project. The executive producers include Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Macdara Kelleher, Rob Savage, Josh Malerman, and Ryan Lewis. Alayna Glasthal is overseeing the film for Atomic Monster.

About Dichen Lachman

Lachman has garnered critical acclaim and Emmy buzz for her “virtuosic dual roles” as Ms. Casey and Gemma in the Peabody Award-winning Severance. Her Season 2 arc on the series featured the standalone episode “Sweet Vitriol” (207), which provided a backstory for her enigmatic character and her history with Adam Scott’s Mark, deepening the show’s emotional stakes. Lachman is considered a breakout contender for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in the series Lachman is also set to appear in the second and third seasons of Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender.
