The Storm, a new Swedish comedy written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Josephine Bornebusch, is coming exclusively to Netflix. The latest Swedish Netflix Original also stars Bornebusch alongside a star-studded cast.

“I’m so happy about the amazing ensemble who wanted to make this film with me – they are truly fantastic actors who have given their all to the movie! It feels exciting to do this outrageous comedy. I’m really looking forward to sharing this film with the audience!“ says Josephine Bornebusch, writer, director, and actor, who most recently directed parts of the global success series Baby Reindeer and feature film Let Go.

What is Netflix’s The Storm about?

Filip is turning 45, and has invited his closest friends for dinner at his and his wife’s lavish and newly bought farm estate up north in Sweden. A decadent celebration soon turns bad when a ferocious storm heads directly toward the estate, trapping the group of “friends” together.

As panic sinks in, their polished acts fall, and an unfiltered meltdown starts. When the tension and anxiety creep higher and higher, the group begins to realise the seriousness of the situation sinks in, the farm starts to shrink, secrets spill out, and unexpected feelings take shape. The Storm looks at a hotbed of emotions in a confined space. What could go wrong?

What’s a Swedish film without a Skarsgård? The Netflix Original film stars Gustaf Skarsgård, Aliette Opheim, Filip Berg, Josephine Bornebusch, Jonas Karlsson, Johan Rheborg, Christopher Wagelin, Sara Shirpey, Gizem Erdogan, Henrik Dorsin, Nils Wetterholm, and Nicole Levin.
