Paradox Interactive, a developer and publisher of games of all sizes, released Giant Kings, a new expansion that adds Elder Giants as a new Ruler type for Age of Wonders 4.

In Giant Kings, players can restore the Elder Giants to their rightful place as masters of the Astral Sea as they return to the myriad realms of Age of Wonders. Players may explore the ruins of the giants’ fallen empire, seek out forgotten crystal magic to empower their armies, and delve into the depths for lost treasures. This expansion introduces the new Giant ruler type, a powerful new dwelling, and an array of hand-crafted regions to explore.

Key features players can expect from Age of Wonders 4: Giant Kings
  • Elder Giant Rulers – Take command as a Giant and restore your dominion over the Astral Sea, wielding immense strength and age-old power.
  • New Dwelling – Discover and ally with a mighty new Dwelling that ties into the giants’ rich lore and fallen legacy.
  • Crystal Magic & Ruins – Unlock forgotten crystal-based magic and explore handcrafted regions scattered with ancient relics and untold secrets

But that’s not all the changes launching. In addition to the launch of Giant Kings, all Age of Wonders 4 players will also be able to download the Ogre Update, a free content and feature patch that includes new combat maps, new Ancient Wonder adventures, Pantheon updates, a rework of Feudal Culture, new Underground gameplay, and much, much more.

The Ancient Wonder adventures, in particular, are exciting. They add an extra layer of magic and mythology that the game relishes and will make for a great spot of fun. All base game Ancient Wonders that did not already have three or more Adventure Sets have received new adventures.

Check out what adventures are coming below:
  • The Fairy Court – Encountered in Hidden Wellsprings with the names Fayfount, Nixwell and Covert Court
  • The Silver Realm – Encountered in Crystal Forests with the names Silverdell, Argent Weald and Knight’s Rest
  • The Wan – Encountered in Magma Forges with the names Anvil of Doom, Spiritsap Smithy and Blackhammer Furnace
  • The Sleeper in Shadow – Encountered in Lost Tombs with the names Silent Tomb, Sleeper’s Sanctuary and Whispering Graves
