Diablo IV is unleashing more greedy little creatures in the undergrowth of Sanctuary with the launch of its March of the Goblins event. From March 4, 10 a.m. PST—March 11, 10 a.m. PDT, a variety of Goblins are wreaking havoc across Sanctuary through every town and hovel. The Goblins have multiplied like, well, Goblins.
As you progress through the Reputation track, you’ll increase your chances of cleaving them from their Treasure Bags. Hunt them across every World Tier, in the Overworld and deepest dungeons, and across both Eternal and Seasonal Realms.
March of the Goblins introduces six brand-new Goblin variants, who will remain after the increased Goblin activity has ended. Slay these new devious gremlins to earn reputation for coveted rewards. Visit the Goblin Statue in central Kyovashad to begin your hunt and earn rewards.
While March of the Goblins is live, there’s an increased chance to see larger packs of Treasures Goblins, encounter Greed Shrines, and see increased Treasure Goblins when facing off against Avarice, the Gold-Cursed World Boss.
But let’s break down March of the Goblins further!
We’ve got new goblins, more activities, and a chance for players to build their reputation by – sniffle – killing these greedy little creatures. The devil’s in the details, though, so let’s get into it.
Increased Goblin Activity: It can’t REALLY be a March of the Goblins without an uptick in Goblin activity, right? Treasure Goblins are running rampant, and their elusive packs are larger and more rewarding than ever before. Encounter larger packs of Treasure Goblins, discover Greed Shrines, and face off against Avarice, the Gold-Cursed World Boss, with enhanced Goblin spawns.
Reputation and Rewards: Don’t run away from the Goblins if they pounce on you. Instead, slay away those little miscreants. With each death, you earn Reputation, which earns you great rewards. Your Reputation progress is tied to your individual prowess for culling Treasure Goblins, so slay to your heart’s content to earn to complete it and earn a Resplendent Spark.
Keep in mind that as you slay through the ranks, the chance for Treasure Bags to drop from the Treasure Goblins increases as well.
And then, there are the new Goblin Variants.
There are six new Goblin Variants entering the picture. Each one comes with a unique prize to claim after you slay it. These new Goblin variants seem to be rarer than their brown bagged counterpart, so keep a keen eye out for them in the undergrowth. If you find them, slay the heck out of them. Here is all you need to know about each variant.
- Odious Ector: Glowing a bright luminous green, the Odious Ector goblin drops crafting materials, including Obducite in Torment tiers.
- Gilded Baron: The master of gold, this Goblin drops tantalizing heaps of coins and Aberrant Cinders during Helltides. To no surprise, when you encounter it in the wild, it glows a bright yellow-gold color, making it easier to identify.
- Glittering Prym: Sparkling with promise, Prym carries gems, Runes, and Scattered Prisms to add to your wealth. Blinding white in color, you may have to struggle not to look away before you slay.
- Curious Murl: The keeper of Obols, Murl’s purple hue is unmissable. For those Wanderers that often travel at their maximum Obol capacity, this bag can still be collected in your inventory regardless of whether you are at maximum Obol capacity.
- Gelatinous Syrus: Splits into multiple Goblins upon death (which ew…no, thanks). They are a light blue color when you encounter them. The Gelatinous Syrus drops 1 Legendary item—with an increased chance of dropping additional Legendary items at higher Torment tiers—Gold, Boss summoning materials, and the chance of an Elixir. To claim their spoils, you’ll have to kill the smallest Goblins of the pack.
- Fancy Old Fedric: The rarest legend of all. Mythic Unique items and a Resplendent Spark accompany this goblin of gods—if you can find it. If you do, chase it down, for you may never get the opportunity again. Managing to kill Fancy Old Fedric grants a Mythic Unique, a Resplendent Spark, and earns you bragging rights for all time. It has a pinkish hue.
These new Goblin variants will remain in the Eternal and Seasonal Realms even after the event ends, ensuring the hunt never truly stops. However, the March of the Goblins will feature these variants at their peak, so don’t waste any time and start chasing them down when the event starts.
