Independent studio Stunbyte is excited to take the brakes off the news that its fast-paced survivor-like top-down shooter Driveloop will be racing onto Steam in 2025. Promising an adrenaline-pumping blend of vehicular combat, strategic customisation, and post-apocalyptic locales, players can put the pedal to the metal. Look forward to drifting, ramming, and shooting through waves of mechanical enemies, all in the name of survival in this latest game.

What To Expect From Driveloop

Driveloop challenges players to take the wheel of an art-deco-inspired futuristic fighting machine in a post-apocalyptic playground of destruction. Players can supe up their ride through a range of abilities and weapons. They can also recruit new crew members to ride and die alongside them and equip them with essential upgrades and repairs. Look forward to synergising equipment combos to unlock the devastating potential of the ultimate combat machine on four wheels.

Explore decayed city environments from Berlin’s sun-bleached desert to Paris’s urban jungle, each with strategic layouts, obstacles, and hazards, and face off against various relentless enemies, from swarming minions to heavily armoured mechanical beasts. Confront massive bosses in cinematic battles, requiring precise timing and strategic use of your vehicle’s bespoke abilities.

Key Features To Look Out For

With its Mad Max-inspired concept, how can players expect to survive in the game’s rough and rumble-like atmosphere? It all boils down to the key features and knowing exactly what you’re getting into upon entering the world of Driveloop. Here are the features players will be working with:

  • Drift, ram, and shoot through endless waves of enemies, customise your killing machine with a wide range of weapons and abilities, and recruit powerful crew members from the survivors left behind.
  • Do battle in real-life cities as you’ve never seen them before as the apocalypse turns iconic locations from tourist attractions into combat arenas. Every street corner is packed with danger (and secrets) to encounter and overcome! Ditch the sat-nav; all you need to make it through these sprawling settings is gunpowder and a bumper capable of withstanding a lot of ramming…
  • While players will face off against minions, behind every minion is someone holding the strings. Face-off against challenging bosses in epic showdowns, with the roguelike genre getting a much-needed fuel-injection of car-based creativity. These showdowns will raise your hackles and keep you on your toes as you navigate the roads for your survival.
