Marvel Games and NetEase Games announced that fan-favorite Hawkeye will join the launch roster for Marvel Rivals. The new Super Hero Team-Based PVP Shooter, Marvel Rivals, lets players assemble an ever-evolving all-star squad of Super Heroes and Super Villains battling with unique powers across a dynamic lineup of destructible maps from across the Marvel Multiverse.

The merciless clash between tyrannical dictator Doctor Doom and his future counterpart from the year 2099 has forced countless universes to collide in the Timestream Entanglement, creating new worlds and crises unknown in Marvel Rivals.

Heroes and Villains from across the multiverse must fight together and against one another as disparate groups, each seeking to best both Dooms before one achieves domination of these realities. Familiar faces become newfound foes, while former enemies become the greatest of allies in Marvel Rivals!

In addition to Hawkeye, the development team revealed a new map for Wakanda, Birnin T’Challa, new Imperial Protocol costumes, part one of a behind-the-scenes look at the game’s development, and launch details alongside the Season 0 roadmap.

Who Is Hawkeye?

Clint Barton is one of the greatest marksmen alive. He may not have superpowers, but his natural ability to hit virtually any target earned him a place alongside Earth’s mightiest heroes. As Hawkeye, he’s been known to take down an entire enemy fleet with nothing more than a quiver full of arrows. Hawkeye’s unparalleled skills as a marksman have earned him a spot alongside Earth’s mightiest heroes.

What Is The Birnin T’Challa Wakanda Map?

As a futuristic, interstellar city of the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda, the highly developed Birnin T’challa has a unique urban landscape featuring high-density vibranium skyscrapers combined with traditional African tribal architectural styles, presenting the bold, distinctive imagination of Afrofuturism. The totemism and religious beliefs of old never left Wakanda—statues of Bast, the Black Panther goddess, can be seen throughout the city in various forms, ranging from vibranium statues to holographic projections.

More About Season 0 Roadmap, Imperial Protocol Costumes, And The Behind the Scenes

The Marvel Rivals team has revealed the game’s roadmap and come December 6, players will be able to jump right into Season 0 “Dooms’ Rise”. Throughout this month-long kick-off season, there will be a total of 33 heroes, eight maps for Quick Match and Competitive modes, a Conquest map, and a brand-new Practice Range, “Dooms’ Rise” is the opening season of Marvel Rivals and it’s all about the chaos caused by Doctor Doom’s time experiments. Players can also watch  Volume 1 of a video series on the development journey and plans for Marvel Rivals.

A battle pass will be packed with costumes and cosmetic items at launch. Since Season 0 only lasts about a month, the Season 0 pass has half the content of a full Seasonal Battle Pass and is priced accordingly. The in-game store will be regularly updated and packed with costumes from classic comics, MCU-inspired designs, costumes that directly reflect the game’s unique story, and much more!

What Comes With “Imperial Protocol Costumes”?

Also set to be launched in conjunction with Season 0 are the “Imperial Protocol” series of costumes. These unique costumes are designed around the concept of “Afrofuturism,” which combines the ancient tribal elements of Africa with futuristic, intergalactic technology. In the story of Season 0, Black Panther becomes the monarch of the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda, and he has a kingly outfit – “Imperial Protocol: Galactic Claw” – to match his status.

Throughout the story, he welcomes different heroes to his empire, such as Captain America and Mantis. Captain America will possess the “Imperial Protocol: Galactic Talon” armor and Mantis will have her own battle suit: “Imperial Protocol: Galactic Wings.” Both of these combine their respective aesthetics with futuristic tech. The newly announced Hawkeye will be the fourth in this story to receive an “Imperial Protocol” costume, and will be revealed soon.

The highly-anticipated game, Marvel Rivals, launches December 6 with all heroes unlocked and free to play at launch and beyond. Add Marvel Rivals to your wishlist now on Steam.
