The Star Wars franchise from Lucasfilm has endured definitive highs and lows over the course of the last decade. This is especially true for its Disney+ series which range from the superb, Andor, to the middling, Ahsoka. The studio is looking for another hit series though with the upcoming Star Wars: The Acolyte. The original series launches Tuesday, June 4, with the first two episodes exclusively on Disney+.
The trailer doesn’t give much away though the imagery speaks to the worldbuilding the franchise is capable of. Most impressive however is the formidable cast they’ve assembled for the series. Created by Leslye Headland, the series takes place 100 years prior to The Phantom Menace. This is just one of the latest Star Wars series to hit the streaming service. Previous titles include The Mandalorian, The Bad Batch, and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
