Capcom has released new gameplay footage of Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess at Xbox Partner Preview. The game takes place on a mountain that’s overrun by eerie monsters called the Seethe. There, this single-player action game puts the players’ tactical and combat skills to the test.

The “Kagura” gameplay trailer offers a riveting sneak-peek into the vibrancy of this world. Featuring intricate action and combat modes, the teaser hones in on the impressive world building. The trailer delivers a look at the difference between the challenges players face during night and day. That plus the inventive creature design and how the visual signs of the land’s infections are major highlights. Inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics, the game seeks action-adventure thrills.

As the protagonist Soh, it is the player’s duty to rescue villagers and restore peace along with the Maiden of the mountain, Yoshiro. Achieve this by purging the defilement that infects their land on Mt. Kafuku. Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess incorporates a unique real-time day to night cycle. During the day, the player’s strategy skills are put to the test. They deliberately plan to purge the defiled village by rescuing villagers, assigning roles to them, and fixing their defensive contraptions to prepare for an imminent battle.

As night falls, it’s time to fight against the horrific Seethe that emerge from the Torii gates and aim to attack Yoshiro. Players must harness their combative skills as they defend the Maiden and adapt to the everchanging battle conditions. Fight alongside the villagers, and use the power of Soh’s dance-like sword techniques to succeed. Enjoy a fusion of real-time strategy and exhilarating action by repeating this day-to-night cycle in order to purge the defilement and restore the land’s peace with Soh and Yoshiro.

When Will Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Be Available

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess will be available later this year on Xbox Game Pass for console and PC, and on Xbox Series X|S, Windows, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
