FINJI is the award-winning development studio behind Overland and Canabalt and publisher of TUNIC, Night in the Woods, and Chicory: A Colorful Tale. The developer revealed during The Game Awards with a World Premiere trailer for their next internal development: Usual June.

With a stylized art aesthetic, Usual June is a new third-person action-adventure game. It is being made by the FINJI Development Team, led by Creative Director Adam Saltsman (Overland, Canabalt), and produced in collaboration with the narrative team at Sweet Baby Inc (Alan Wake 2, God of War: Ragnarok, Spider-Man 2) and BAFTA winning audio director Adam Hay (Dreams, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture).

As shown in the trailer, you will play as June, a college student who can talk to ghosts. As you hang out with your new best friends, you’ll have to defend yourself against strange creatures and try to uncover a Midwest city’s deepest secrets before it’s too late. FINJI has noted that players will delight in frantic, flexible combat, a witty cast (living and dead), and an original conspiracy story that is equal parts terrifying, funny, and sweet, with graphic novel-inspired storytelling in a full 3D game world.

Usual June is currently in development for PC for 2025, with a release date to be announced in the future. Players can wishlist the game now on Steam.
