The Eminence in Shadow

HIDIVE, AMC Network’s fast-growing anime streaming service and home to some of Japan’s hottest new series, announced today that it will host the world premiere of The Eminence in Shadow 2nd Season in Los Angeles, Calif. at next month’s Anime Expo, the largest annual anime convention in North America. Presented in partnership with Kadokawa, this first-ever dual world premiere event features separate English subtitled and dub premieres of The Eminence in Shadow 2nd Season Episode 1 on July 1 and July 4, respectively. Each premiere will include a post-screening Q&A session. The July 1 subtitled premiere will include Japanese cast member Seiichiro Yamashita (voice of Cid/Shadow), while the July 4 dubbed premiere will include English dub cast members Adam Gibbs (voice of Cid/Shadow) and Christina Kelly (voice of Alpha).

Petree Hall – Los Angeles Convention Center

“We are truly honored to partner with Kadokawa and co-present the world premiere of The Eminence in Shadow 2nd Season together with them,” said John Ledford, President of HIDIVE. “Anime Expo provides the perfect stage to debut the highly anticipated second season of The Eminence in Shadow for both sub and dub fans. This world premiere not only spotlights the series’ huge North American fanbase but also recognizes the global popularity of The Eminence in Shadow.”

Based on Daisuke Aizawa’s hilarious isekai light novel series of the same name, The Eminence in Shadow first premiered last fall on HIDIVE. The fantasy-action series quickly gained popularity with fans as well as garnered media praise, including “Next Isekai Hit” (CBR.com) and “Anime Sleeper Hit” (Collider). The 2nd Season promises to deliver The Eminence in Shadow’s unique isekai mix of fantasy, action, and humor that fans have come to adore — transporting audiences seamlessly back into the world of the Shadow Garden as if they never left…

Everything has been going according to plan, but the hour of awakening draws near. Cid Kageno and Shadow Garden investigate the Lawless City, a cesspool where the red moon hangs low in the sky, and three powerful monarchs rule the streets. The true draw for Cid, however, is one who can draw blood–the Blood Queen, a vampire who has slumbered in her coffin for eons. Her awakening approaches, and Cid could finally face a day of reckoning.

The show returns this October for its exciting second season.
