Lopez Vs. Lopez is in full swing, and with Season 1 Episode 8, the Lopez home is disturbed by an evil spirit. To remove it, the family enlists a curandero (Cheech Marin) who tells them the house isn’t haunted; it’s George! The ghost of his grandmother (Rita Moreno) is hell-bent on righting a past wrong and will keep throwing chanclas at his big head until he does it.

Rita Moreno joins the cast as George’s late Grandma Dolores, a feisty spirit on a mission to make her grandson George do right by her, one way or another. Whether it’s smacking him with her chancla or her razor-sharp tongue, she’s here to get things straight with George, whether he likes it or not. But Moreno isn’t the only guest this week, Cheech Marin will be playing Carlos, a curandero invited into the Lopez home to help them with an uninvited spirit. He is an all-knowing, all-powerful conduit between the supernatural and the temporal worlds. He’s both mystical and magnetic. He’s also modern, he takes bitcoin! Carlos is a straight shooter; tell it like it is shaman who can not only diagnose a ghost, but can clean up the scene if you need him to.

Leyva is best known for her co-starring role on the Netflix hit series “Orange Is the New Black” and in the Disney+ original “Diary of a Future President.” For her work on the latter, she won a 2021 Gracie Award, which honors standout women in entertainment and news programming that addresses timely topics and social issues.

Lopez Vs Lopez airs on NBC every Friday at 8pm ET.
