Developer AREA 35 Inc announced that music for its upcoming sequel, TINY METAL 2, will be composed by Go Shiina, a renowned composer known for his work in games and anime, recognized internationally with major awards. The game is the latest installment in its turn-based strategy simulation game series.
About the first game, we said, “Whether you play on-the-go or at home, Tiny Metal is a fantastic tactical experience that is great for newcomers to strategy and expert warriors who survived Advance Wars. Its old-fashioned presentation and refined gameplay make for a solid battlefield experience worth delving into. May Area 35 excite us with their next big game.”

Last year, we were discussing opportunities to work together again, and I asked if he would be interested in contributing to TINY METAL 2.

I wanted the music to capture the feeling of standing against that destiny, of finding the strength to challenge what appears inevitable. Additionally, TINY METAL 2 will be featured at the Japan Expo in Paris, running July 9-12, 2026. Go Shiina will make a special appearance as he joins the AREA 35 Inc. team for an exclusive announcement.

The fog of war returns in the popular arcade war gaming series with TINY METAL 2, a new chapter of tactical action and multi-faction intrigue featuring the return of fan favorite TINY METAL characters, strategy-based gameplay, and a wealth of new commanders, modes, and, for the first time in the series, naval battles featuring submarines, battleships, and more.
Lead a storm of land, sea, and air forces to ultimate victory in the grid-based tactical battle. As the commander, players decide what units to produce, what resources to capture, and when to attack. Triumph against an alliance of fearsome enemies, or be crushed under the treads of their advance.
Who is Go Shiina?
Go Shiina joined Bandai Namco in 1997 and helped define the sound of the Tekken series of fighting games, Ace Combat, and Tales of Legendia. Shiina retired from Bandai Namco in 2017 and has been a freelance composer since.
During his freelance career, Shiina gained even more critical acclaim by scoring Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba and its theatrical films, which won “Best Score” at the 2026 Crunchyroll Anime Awards. For TINY METAL 2, Go Shiina has created music featuring grand orchestral recordings.
What is the release date?
TINY METAL 2 is currently in development by AREA 35 and will be published by AREA 34. There is currently no set release date for the game, but a release window is set for Spring 2027 on PC via Steam and other platforms.
