Everything New In Palia's Toadstool Tales Update: Photo Mode, New Lunar Path, Community Event

Singularity 6′s Palia is the cozy MMO that keeps the updates coming like clockwork with the seasons. And with Spring in full swing, the game is ready for a Spring Spectacle in its Toadstool Tales update.

This seasonal patch invites players to return to the Elderwood to explore the Zendruu Tree, heal the forest, and forge a deeper bond with Ulfe. But it wouldn’t be an update without also adding new elements to the Lunar Path, and this one is toad-themed. What is new in the Spring Spectacle: Toadstool Tales Update?

According to Singularly 6, Spring Spectacle: Toadstool Tales blends
“narrative questing, cozy creativity, and collaborative adventure.” In it, players will get to experience a new community event, more Player Profile personalization (thanks to the updated Photo Mode system), and deeper connections to the larger Palai story.

Open Season Community Event

Community events have become a staple in Palia. Now, during this limited-time, 14-day event (April 24 to May 8, 2026), players will work together toward shared Fishing and Hunting milestones. In the same theme of healing the forest, fishing and hunting are being used in the Springe Spectacle: Toadstool Tales update as a way to teach players to balance the ecosystem.

Contributions in the Elderwood count double, unlocking tiered rewards delivered directly to participants following the event’s conclusion.

With all players contributing to the same goal, Singularity 6 has also explained that players will be able to choose how they want to contribute by either hunting, fishing, or tending their animals on their ranch.

Zendruu Tree

Spring is a season for new growth, but also for healing, and the Zendruu Tree offers just that. In the Elderwood, players will find the Zendruu Tree, which players will work to heal and uncover hidden truths in the process. The Zendruu Tree also comes with Echolings. Echolings are new creatures in Palia and are lingering spirits from Umbraa’s past.

Additionally, Singuarlity 6 has also announced that healing the Zendruu Tree is the end of the Elderwood story arc. With new puzzles and collectables to unlock, this new element to the story teases a reveal and plants a seed for the future.

Ulfe Friendship Quests

As a part of the Zendruu Tree questline, players will be able to unlock a new friendship progression with Ulfe. Suffering from nightmares, players will work with him to heal from his past and stop his nightmares, all connected to the Zendruu Tree, which impacts his character and story. And for players wondering what friendship level you can achieve, it’s level 4.

Spring Bounty Bundle Board

Collect and contribute colorful eggs through Hunting, Fishing, Bug Catching, Foraging, Mining, Gardening, and Ranching to the Bundle Board.

As shared in the patch notes, each bundle will ask for eggs (red for hunting, blue for fishing, yellow for bug catching, green for foraging, and a random mix for mining, gardening, and ranching).

New Photo Mode

Photo Mode’s interface has been updated to make it easier for players to navigate it. The system is updated to support filters and special effects. The current filter is the Sepia filter, but the developers have shared that they plan to add more in the future. Additionally, this new photo mode allows players to add photos directly to their Player Profile; however, the initial limit is only 200 images per player. PC players will be able to save locally after that cap is hit.

But with a new photo mode also comes tools to keep Palia a safe and welcoming community. The photo mode will also come with chat message reporting that allows players to report images.

Ranching Retirement Acres

This new feature allows players to store animals outside of their barn in a retirement area. While retired, animals are “frozen” in time. This means that they will not age and their need bars won’t deplete or change.

Moving veteran animals into or out of retirement is free; if you retire a younger animal, it will cost 20 Ranching Skill Medals. On top of that, additional retirement slots are available for players who would like to store more animals, with a total of 50 allowed from the start.

What is the new Lunar Path?

The Path of the Tadpole is ready for players to walk or leap. This brand-new Lunar Path features several levels of free and Premium rewards, including Frogbert-inspired outfits, Plushes, and more.

Progress for the Lunar Paths never expires, which allows players to move at their own pace. Additionally, you can swap between Paths and earn XP on any Path at any time.
