South Korean publisher Nexon continues to diversify its game portfolio. With a looter shooter like The First Descendant, a soulslike like The First Berserker: Khazan, and the already announced horror RPG Woochi, the publisher is adding a PvPvE title, Nakwon Last Paradise.
While already announced, the publisher has been sharing more and more videos highlighting systems and gameplay over the past year, and now, it’s time for a Closed Alpha benchmarking test.

The zombie survival game aims to pull players into a realistic, immersive survival simulation, and, from what the Nexon developers have highlighted in their YouTube dev blogs, the focus is on capturing the disaster experience and its nuances.
Scavange, survive, and fight seem to be the three core pillars, but immersion is key. You can watch explanations of the combat system, weather system, learn about the Committee, and get an extended gameplay preview on the company’s YouTube channel.
When is the Closed Alpha Test?
Nexon announced that the studio will begin its Closed Alpha Test on March 11 to March 15, 2026.

What is Nakwon: Last Paradise?

If you’re unfamiliar, Nakwon Last Paradise is a multiplayer zombie survival game set in the heart of Seoul, South Korea. With a tone similar to #Alone, Nakwon is shaping up to be an immersive zombie survival game where your only goal is to stay alive.
Fans of Korean series like All of Us Are Dead or Sweet Home will get the chance to see if they can survive a zombified Seoul. Players will begin their lives as refugees in a safe haven built by survivors. From there, players will head out to scavenge for food and supplies in a city overrun by the infected to manage their shelter. With core survival game mechanics, every little thing counts in your fight for survival. This allows players to turn kitchen tools into weapons, but also increases the risk that small wounds can become fatal.

Nakwon embodies much of what we’ve seen in Korean cinema and apocalyptic stories, making it perfect for fans of films like Concrete Utopia. You can find a breakdown of gameplay features below as featured on Nakwon’s Steam Page:
- Expeditions: Expedition areas are packed with the infected and other survivors who are desperate for resources. In this crumbling world, danger lurks around every corner, and you’ll never know what you’re walking into. Survive the intense PvPvE expeditions in the ruins of a fallen city. Face the raw tension that grips your senses. Immerse yourself in the struggle to stay alive.
- Strategy: Confrontation is not the only option—survival comes in many forms. Hide, run, betray, or cooperate. Do whatever it takes to make it out alive. Other survivors can’t be trusted, and the infected are deadly. In this world, your survival depends on the strategy you choose.
- Simulation: As a NAKWON citizen, you must maintain your shelter during the day and scavenge the city at night for resources. Choose how to spend your days and nights – your survival depends on it. Set up your shelter with furniture, scrap resources to craft items, and upgrade your gear.
