BTS’s historic comeback streamed on Netflix, and to follow it up, the international streamer is gearing up to release a BTS Documentary. Titled BTS: The Return, directed by Bao Nguyen, and follows RM (Kim Nam-joon), Jin (Kim Seok-jin), SUGA (Min Yoon-gi), j-hope (Jung Hoseok), Jimin (Park Jimin), V (Kim Tae-hyun), and Jung Kook (Jeon Jung-kook), chronicling the group’s production of ARIRANG and return to performance after a four-year hiatus.

If you’re like me, you’ve waited out the last four years with the different variety shows like BTS, Bon Voyage, Are You Sure?, Jinny’s Kitchen, Kian’s Bizarre B&B, and In the Soop. But after watching BTS The Comeback: ARIRANG, I was reminded of how impactful the Disney+ docuseries BTS: Monuments Beyond the Star was in the lead-up to the group’s hiatus. It gave a look at their past and present and allowed the members to be vulnerable about their anxieties about what was to come.

During the ARIRANG comeback performance, it was clear that the members were blazing a new path for themselves. Their sound is closer to the 2014-2016 era that embraced hip-hop at its core with stellar solos for the rap line. But unlike then, the album is primarily in English while still honoring their culture and their country with tracks like “No.29” and “Body to Body.” And then with a track like “they don’t know ’bout us,” well, it’s clear that we’re meeting the members again, and this time on their terms. And I want to know how they processed that.

Now, as I wait for the Netflix documentary, I’m looking for others. With the Yet To Come performance on Prime Video and most of the variety series on WeVerse, well, where do we go? The answer is Viki.

If you’re unfamiliar, Viki is the streaming service for Asian entertainment, and it has not just one BTS documentary but five that mostly focus on the SPEAK YOURSELF and LOVE YOURSELF tours. For those looking a little further back, the BANGTANtv YouTube channel has all of BTS: Burn the Stage available to watch as well.

The documentaries span performance, arena film, and genuine docuseries. You can find links and descriptions below, so now you know where to jump in.
