During Netflix’s 10th anniversary celebration in Tokyo, Japan, the streamer made two major anime announcements. The first was unveiling the brand new BAKI-DOU series, and the second was debuting a first look at BEASTARS Final Season Part 2. This latter part was all about teasing a dramatic climax, also set to premiere next year.

The announcements were made during a special talk show featuring a dream collaboration between Keisuke Itagaki, creator of the BAKI manga series, and Paru Itagaki, creator of BEASTARS. This event was a part of the ongoing Netflix anniversary celebration, which runs through September 14, 2025.

Director Shinichi Matsumi, who has led the series since Season 1, shared his thoughts on the finale during the event:

“As fangs and horns clash, friendship, love, and pride – everything will be put to the test in this intense climax. What does it mean to live beyond the boundaries of species? Is love a source of strength, or of weakness? The finale of this work is not only their story, but also a question posed to the world we live in. Please watch until the very end.”

What is BEASTARS Final Season Part 2 about?

The final season is set to resolve the intricate relationships and conflicts that have defined the series since its beginning. The new visuals depict Legoshi with a quiet but firm resolve, surrounded by characters who have played pivotal roles in his journey.

The stills also feature Juno, the drama club junior who admired Legoshi and now looks up to Louis; the popular and sharp-witted Pina; and the ruthless criminal, Melon, who poses the greatest threat to Legoshi and his friends.

BEASTARS Final Season Part 2 should be a powerful and emotional conclusion of the beloved series, if it tackles Paru Itagaki’s work as she did. The first images showcase a grave and determined Legoshi, alongside key characters who will be central to the story’s climax, including his first love, Haru, and his complicated mentor, Louis. The stills heighten anticipation for the final episodes as the narrative builds toward its shocking conclusion.
