What is Tougen Anki?

Tougen Anki: Legend of the Cursed Blood is written by mangaka Yura Urushibara and is a popular series currently serialized in AKITASHOTEN’s Weekly Shōnen Champion. Based on the well-known Japanese folktale Momotaro, the story depicts the conflict between those who inherit the blood of Oni (demons) and Momotaro.

The series has surpassed 4 million copies in total circulation. In June 2023, the manga series was also adapted into a four-part stage play, and was most recently adapted into a TV anime as the second installment. Now, a mobile game adaptation has been announced as the third installment.

One of the season’s sleeper weekly hits, TOUGEN ANKI has an emotional opening and flips shonen expectations on their head. With a deep investment in character development and nailing action sequences, it’s clear why the series has become a massive hit for the Summer anime season.

TOUGEN ANKI: Crimson Inferno will release on PC and mobile devices.
