HBO and the BBC have released the first official look at their new original drama series, Half Man, from Emmy-winning creator and executive producer Richard Gadd (Baby Reindeer, Against The Law). The jointly produced series will be six episodes, stars Jamie Bell and Gadd in lead roles, and is slated to debut in 2026.
What is Half Man about?
The series follows the turbulent, almost four-decade-long relationship between estranged two “brothers,” Niall and Ruben. The story kicks off with a violent confrontation at Niall’s wedding. The event triggers a journey back through their shared past. Set against a backdrop that spans from the 1980s to the present, the narrative explores the highs and lows of their bond, from their first meeting as troubled teenagers to their eventual falling out as adults.
According to the official first look at the series, Half Man aims to capture the wild energy of a world in flux while delving into the complexities of masculinity. Mitchell Robertson and Stuart Campbell will portray the younger versions of Niall and Ruben, respectively, offering a comprehensive look at their evolving dynamic over time and not just one singular moment.
