Netflix has confirmed Emily in Paris Season 5 will premiere globally on December 18, 2025. The new season will see Emily Cooper’s adventures move beyond the City of Lights, as she takes on new career challenges and explores the romantic landscape of Italy. Creator Darren Star describes the upcoming chapter as “a tale of two cities,” with Emily splitting her time between Paris and Rome.

Season 4 of the series saw the expat spark a romance with a handsome Italian fashion scion and then move into an Italian apartment to open a Rome office for Agence Grateau. But the locale twist doesn’t mean the name of the show is changing. “Emily’s going to have a presence in Rome,” says Star. “It doesn’t mean she’s not going to be in Paris,” Collins said to Tudum, Netflix’s blog dedicated to updates and announcements of the streamer’s content.

The series is created and executive-produced by Darren Star. The decision to send Emily to Italy was born out of a desire to “stay ahead of the audience” and expand the show’s footprint. The previous season, which debuted in August, reached No. 1 on the Netflix Global Top 10, demonstrating the series’ widespread popularity.

Lily Collins, who also serves as an executive producer on Emily in Paris Season 5, has expressed her excitement about her character’s new journey, particularly her relationship with Marcello and has confirmed to TUDUM that that her romance will remain central to the series.

In the previous season, Emily secured a new role as head of Agence Grateau’s Rome office, which led to a budding romance with Italian fashion scion Marcello. The new season will explore her life in Rome and Venice as she navigates her new work-life balance and a relationship with Marcello.

However, the season is also set to bring new romantic challenges, as her on-and-off-again boyfriend, Gabriel, finally decides he wants to be with her. The series will continue to showcase Emily’s Parisian life, with Star confirming that the show’s name will not change.
