HIDIVE has officially announced that the highly anticipated fantasy series, Hero Without a Class: Who Even Needs Skills?!, will be exclusively streaming on their platform starting in October. This marks the first of several new series slated for HIDIVE’s Fall 2025 simulcast season.

But for convention-going fans, they won’t have to wait until October. Before its wide streaming debut, the world premiere of Hero Without a Class: Who Even Needs Skills?! Episode 1 will take place at Anime NYC 2025, running from August 21-24 in New York City.
What is Hero Without a Class: Who Even Needs Skills?!
The series is adapted from Shichio Kuzu’s popular fantasy novel and manga series. The story introduces a world where a goddess grants each individual a class and skills that determine their life’s path. However, our protagonist, Arel, born to a Sword Princess and an Archmage, mysteriously receives neither a class nor skills. He must instead rely on his resolve, determination, and natural talents to achieve greatness, becoming a truly unique hero—a hero without a class!
The four-volume Earth Star Novel light novel series, illustrated by Yumehito Ueda, began in July 2018. The ongoing Earth Star Comics manga series, illustrated by Akio Nanae, launched in November 2018 and currently spans nine volumes. The English language version of the manga is available from One Peace Books.
