Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida unveiled a new trailer and the official release date for Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.3, titled “The Promise of Tomorrow.” The latest patch in the long-running and beloved MMO is arriving on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. The broadcast detailed a wealth of new content, from main scenario quests to an all-new Deep Dungeon and Cosmic Exploration updates that we can expect in the The Promise of Tomorrow patch.

“The Promise of Tomorrow” brings a massive wave of fresh content to Eorzea and beyond:

  • New Main Scenario Quests: Continue the epic saga as the story progresses.
  • New Alliance Raid – Echoes of Vana’diel, Part 2: San d’Oria: The Second Walk: Dive into the next chapter of the crossover raid series.
  • New Dungeon – The Meso Terminal: Explore a brand-new instanced dungeon.
  • New Trial: Face a challenging new boss encounter in both Normal and Extreme modes.
  • New Unreal Trial – The Wreath of Snakes (Unreal): Challenge Seiryu, one of the Four Lords, at level 100 in this updated, difficult encounter.
  • New Treasure Dungeon – Vault Oneiron: Seek out riches and adventure in a new treasure-hunting experience.
  • Duty Support Additions: Gain support for The Cutter’s Cry, allowing solo players to tackle this dungeon with NPC allies.

The Promise of Tomorrow Adds PvP Updates:

  • PvP Series 9 kicks off.
  • Experience adjustments to existing actions.
  • New ranked tiers introduce fresh competition.
  • A new Crystalline Conflict arena, the Bayside Battleground, enters the fray.
  • Miscellaneous Updates: Quality-of-life improvements including chat bubbles, Phoenix Down changes, and Group Pose updates.

In our review of the last patch, our critic said, “Final Fantasy XIV’s Seekers of Eternity patch delivers a lot of great storytelling, fun fights, and a few extra conveniences.” And like all the patches, Square Enix has also shared what is coming in the future as more updates come down the pipeline of the 7.3 series: 

  • Cosmic Exploration: New Planet – Phaenna (Patch 7.31): Crafters and gatherers can venture to a new planet, Phaenna, with additional updates and changes to the Cosmic Exploration system.
  • Weapon Enhancements Quests (7.31) – Phantom Weapons: Embark on new quests to enhance your weaponry.
  • New Deep Dungeon (Patch 7.35) – Pilgrim’s Traverse: Challenge yourself in a brand-new Deep Dungeon.
  • New Allied Society Quests (Patch 7.35) – Yok Huy: Discover new daily quests and lore with a new Allied Society.
  • Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures (Patch 7.35): Continue the bizarre and hilarious escapades of Inspector Hildibrand.

There has never been a better time for newcomers to begin their adventures in the critically acclaimed FINAL FANTASY XIV Online saga. The Free Trial includes all content from A Realm Reborn, the Heavensward and Stormblood expansions (and updates through Patch 4.58). During the well-known Free Trial, players can enjoy hundreds of hours of award-winning gameplay and story experiences without a limit on playtime.

Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.3 will release August 5, 2025 on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
