Quorum Games, a Puerto Rican game studio, has announced a new fishing demo for their upcoming fantasy life sim, Call of Elyndra. Soon, players can experience one of the game’s core features by angling for a diverse range of fish species inhabiting Elyndra’s waters.
Get ready to compete in a Discord-monitored fishing competition, vying for bragging rights and digital rewards, or simply enjoy some carefree river trolling. Call of Elyndra is a 2.5D, top-down RPG where players create their own protagonist, nurture the land, and fight to protect the city of Elyndra.
Gone Fishing in Elyndra
The Village of Elyndra welcomes you to its prized local fishing spot, where you’ll discover a wide variety of species ready for the taking! The demo features three rarity levels for each fish, unlocking progressively as you catch more. Bait your hook with worms or shad to catch Common Sunfish, Bass, or Trout and if luck is on your side, you might reel in a Rare Koi or Golden Trout. Plus, for the ultimate challenge, try your hand at catching the Mythical Lanternfish.
The fishing controls are intuitive: tap to fine-tune your position and press and hold your mouse to reel fish in. A dynamic “fish band” moves up and down the reeling meter, simulating the struggling fish. Each catch feels unique, with fish size and movement speed varying for every species you attempt to catch.
Special Fishing Demo Features
- Scenic Views: Feast your eyes on the vibrant beauty of Elyndra’s most coveted local fishing spot.
- Exotic Species: Cast and collect 6 unique fish species ranging from Common, Rare, and Mythical, using 2 different bait options.
- Skill-Gated: Players must land 3 catches in a row before Rare species appear, and 5 in a row for Mythical.
- Clever Fishing Controls: Enjoy intuitive “Hold & Tap” controls: press and hold to reel in, and tap to fine-tune your fishing position in the dynamic target window.
