Quorum Games, a Puerto Rican game studio, has announced a new fishing demo for their upcoming fantasy life sim, Call of Elyndra. Soon, players can experience one of the game’s core features by angling for a diverse range of fish species inhabiting Elyndra’s waters.

Get ready to compete in a Discord-monitored fishing competition, vying for bragging rights and digital rewards, or simply enjoy some carefree river trolling. Call of Elyndra is a 2.5D, top-down RPG where players create their own protagonist, nurture the land, and fight to protect the city of Elyndra.

Gone Fishing in Elyndra

Fishing in Call of Elyndra gameplay still

The Village of Elyndra welcomes you to its prized local fishing spot, where you’ll discover a wide variety of species ready for the taking! The demo features three rarity levels for each fish, unlocking progressively as you catch more. Bait your hook with worms or shad to catch Common Sunfish, Bass, or Trout and if luck is on your side, you might reel in a Rare Koi or Golden Trout. Plus, for the ultimate challenge, try your hand at catching the Mythical Lanternfish.

The fishing controls are intuitive: tap to fine-tune your position and press and hold your mouse to reel fish in. A dynamic “fish band” moves up and down the reeling meter, simulating the struggling fish. Each catch feels unique, with fish size and movement speed varying for every species you attempt to catch.

Special Fishing Demo Features

  • Exotic Species: Cast and collect 6 unique fish species ranging from Common, Rare, and Mythical, using 2 different bait options.
  • Skill-Gated: Players must land 3 catches in a row before Rare species appear, and 5 in a row for Mythical.
  • Clever Fishing Controls: Enjoy intuitive “Hold & Tap” controls: press and hold to reel in, and tap to fine-tune your fishing position in the dynamic target window.

What is Call of Elyndra?

Call of Elyndra in all new-engine, Godot, with new 2.5D reimagining

Quorum Games is excited to announce that their top-down RPG, Call of Elyndra, is coming soon to Steam with a brand new 2.5D look. Inspired by beloved retro RPGs, Call of Elyndra invites players to create their own protagonist, nurture the land, and fight to protect the city of Elyndra.

Call of Elyndra introduces players to Elyndra, a village under threat from an empire attempting to seize their land. The Elyndirans have entrusted you with a humble abode. Now, you must earn their trust by aiding the community in its time of need.

Visit the town to trade leftover resources for currency or use them for crafting. Become an integral part of the community by completing errands to build relationships with local villagers. Each villager possesses unique skills reflecting their trades. Increase your affinity points with each villager to unlock special stat bonuses and gradually learn more about the world’s lore. This is just the beginning—more villages and people await discovery and aid,

Whether you prefer peaceful farming or action-packed combat, the game offers two distinct play styles:

Farming in Call of Elyndra:

  • Manage your dream estate by planting crops, fishing, raising livestock, and selling goods at the town market for gold.
  • Tend to your garden’s unique needs by rotating crops across four full seasons to maximize your yield.
  • Complete narrative-driven farming quests and contribute to the townspeople to maintain your village’s reputation.
  • Gather resources to earn XP points for farm-focused skill trees, improving your chances of obtaining higher-quality item drops like crops and gems, enhancing livestock breeding, boosting fishing success, and increasing plant growth time.
Fighting and Exploration in Call of Elyndra:
  • Chain unique combinations of different fighting styles with your sword and bow, while perfecting your dodge rolls.
  • Increase your reputation by undertaking brave and dangerous quests.
  • Explore various dungeons featuring environmental puzzles, working your way to the center where boss battles await.
  • This exploration offers valuable loot and progresses the main questline, uncovering the story behind the threats and the world around you.
  • After completing quests, earn XP points for a combat-focused skill tree, improving your swordsmanship and archery skills to increase attack damage and learn new abilities.

Call of Elyndra will release later this year on PC.
