The chilling world of Stephen King is coming to MGM+ with the highly anticipated adaptation of The Institute, set to premiere on July 13. Executive produced by Stephen King himself and Jack Bender, known for his work on FROM, the series dives into a sinister facility where children with extraordinary abilities are held captive.

The story follows teen genius Luke Ellis, who, after being kidnapped, awakens within the walls of The Institute. There, he discovers other children who share his fate and possess unusual powers. Meanwhile, in a seemingly peaceful nearby town, haunted former police officer Tim Jamieson seeks to start a new life. However, his pursuit of quietude will be short-lived, as his path and Luke’s are destined to intertwine.

What is Stephen King’s The Institute?

The Institute plunges viewers into a dark narrative centered on Luke Ellis, a gifted teenager abducted and taken to a clandestine facility. This institution houses numerous children, all with special abilities, who have been brought there under similar sinister circumstances.

As Luke grapples with his new reality, a separate but connected storyline unfolds with Tim Jamieson, a former police officer looking for a fresh start in a quiet town. The series explores their converging journeys as they navigate the secrets of The Institute and confront the forces at play.
