Mundfish, the team behind Atomic Heart, just pulled back the curtain on their next big project: The Cube. This new multiplayer RPG shooter is set within the retrofuturistic world of Atomic Heart, and its reveal trailer at Summer Game Fest gave us a tantalizing glimpse of the colossal, levitating structure that serves as the centerpiece of this fresh story in the Atomic Universe. The Cube is currently in development for PC and consoles.

“At Mundfish, we were the first in the industry to implement a technology that allows thousands of objects to move and rotate simultaneously across massive stretches of terrain — online and in real time. No other game has ever done this before,” shared Robert Bagratuni, Founder and CEO of Mundfish in a release to press.

He continued, “This became possible thanks to our innovative proprietary split-rendering system, which redefines how motion is handled in interactive environments. The technology delivers maximum performance even under extreme load. In The Cube, physics, ballistics, and gravity feel completely natural — but under the hood, it’s powered by rocket science. The system enables seamless transitions, precise object tracking, and synchronized multiplayer in a living, ever-evolving world. It’s a true technological breakthrough.”

What is The Cube?

Several years after the events of Atomic Heart, humanity faces a new, looming threat. A mysterious, giant, levitating structure known as The Cube has become ground zero for increasingly dangerous phenomena. To save humanity, players will have to dive deep into its secrets and, more importantly, survive.

While it appears as a geometrically perfect object on the surface, its true nature is an anomalous, constantly shifting place teeming with vicious enemies. But the real terror lies in the equation hidden at its core. Deciphering it could save us all; failure means extinction.

Key Features of The Cube:
