The BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 Quarter Finals Day 2 offered exciting matchups with tournament favorites Vitality and crowd favorites FaZe Clan taking on Navi and Mongolz, respectively. Unlike Day 1 of the Quarter-Finals, which went long into the night after multiple overtimes per map, Day 2 ended early at 7:30 pm after a stunning upset and another BLAST.tv Major first.
Blast.tv Austin Major Quarter-Finals Match 3: Natus Vincere (NAVI) vs Vitality

NAVI vs Vitality was the first series of day 2 of the BLAST.tv Austin Major Quarter-finals. Vitality came as the favorite as they have been one of the best CS2 teams of 2025, even after opening with a loss to Legacy. However, they came into Blast.tv Austin Major Quarter-Finals Day 2 looking to end things quick.
After meeting Vitality with a 6-6 at the half, Navi began to slip, allowing Vitality to take Mirage with a 13-9 win. Here, one Vitality trio, ropz, ZywOo, and mezii, who made a huge difference for map one. The three players pulled off a combined 48 kills, securing momentum for the team. Something they’d ride into the second map, Nuke.
When it came to Nuke, it was much of the same, only this time, mezii was on a tear with incredible shots, taking them to 7-5 at the half. NAVI won some rounds with their back against the ropes, eventually pulling the score to 11-12. For the last round of the map, mezii came in clutch on Nuke, keeping Day 2 from starting in quadruple overtime and ending the series 2-0, for Vitality.
Blast.tv Austin Major Quarter-Finals Match 4: FaZe vs The Mongolz

The second series of the day is was a battle between the fan favorite FaZe vs The Mongolz. This was a rematch of a Stage 3 matchup that FaZe won decisively. EliGe being the lone American left in this tournament gave the North American fans a sort of home team to root for. This was really felt as would say majority of the arena was definitely rooting for FaZe between the “Wee Woos” and FaZe chants it was non-stop through the matches.
The first game was set on Mirage, and FaZe came out hot, jumping out to a 3-0 lead before stumbling into a 6-6 halftime score. The Mongolz dominated the second half, winning the first 5 rounds to push the score to 11-6. 910 led the team to finish the match at 21-11 statline. But it wasn’t without a surprise Karrigan performance, who finished 20-14 and kept FaZe in the game before eventually falling to The Mongolz 13-9. EliGe, the “hometown” player, struggled in the first match, finishing 10-15 to the arena’s disappointment.
The second map, Anubis, started just like the first one, with FaZe jumping out to a 3-0 lead. The Mongolz battled back, but a tremendous double kill and bomb defuse by EliGe in round 12 gave FaZe a 7-5 lead into the half. The second half was kind of a back and forth between the two teams, but The Mongolz were just too good for FaZe and consistent to finish off FaZe 13-11. It was a great team showing from The Mongolz. 910 finishing the series at 40-25 and ADR of 93.
This may not have been a true upset, as FaZe has had some issues this season, and S1mple, who they picked on loan for this major, didn’t play that well this match, but it really felt like one in the FaZe-dominated arena. You could just feel all the energy and wind go right out of the arena once that last kill happened.
A New Playoff Bracket Is Set For The Semi-Finals
Unlike Day 1 of the Quarterfinals where there were multiple overtimes and dramatic finishes Day 2 finished with two sweeps. There was still playing of good play, but wasn’t as much theatricals as Day 1 for sure. The Semifinals are set, though, for Day 3. PaiN Gaming will face The Mongolz, followed by Vitality vs MOUZ, with the winners heading to the Grand Final.

The BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 is being held in Austin, TX at The Moody Center from June 19 to June 24, 2025.
