After a stellar first season, which we called “Park Shin-hye at her best,” Judge From Hell Season 2 has started production. Confirmed by South Korean programmer SBS. One of the top K-dramas of 2024, Judge From Hell is a dark fantasy legal drama that left us waiting for a Season 2 after 14-episodes.
“We will be back soon with Season 2. As long as the law is unfair, The Judge from Hell will never stop,” Jo In-Hong, CCO, said in the video message after the series won Bronze at the wins BRONZE at the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards.

The first season of The Judge From Hell offered viewers a fresh take on justice as its titular character, the devil herself, takes evil off the board. With a fresh plot and stellar performances, the K-drama is easy to fall in love with. Still, the undeniable chemistry between leads Park Shin-hye, our lead Kang Bit-na, and Kim Jae-young’s Han Da-on made it an instant hit. But with a cliffhanger ending that truly all of us have been waiting for, the potential return to the underworld.
When reviewing Judge From Hell Season 1, our critic said:
“Plucking a demon from hell and throwing them into the human realm isn’t new terrain for Kdramas. But The Judge From Hell offers something new for Park Shin-hye to shake things up, giving the actress and fans something fun. While the series itself suffers from writing issues and over-the-top edits, Shin-hye steals the spotlight every step of the way, giving hope for a new direction in her career.”
What can we see in The Judge From Hell Season 2?
Season 1 left us with Kang Bit-na at a crossroads, but squarely on Earth. Bit-na has to choose humanity and a life with Han Da-on, sacrificing her immense power and role in Hell? Or will she embrace her destiny as Bael’s heir, continuing her duties as a judge, possibly even traversing between realms?
While our critics and fans alike want the series to double down on romance, Jo In-Hong seems to place her future entirely on the law. That said, while some romantics may be a little let down, this continues Kang Bit-Na’s powerful identity as a woman dedicated to justice first and foremost. While we didn’t see Do-an and Bit-na’s love come all the way into focus, the burgeoning relationship may still be on the table, especially given the recent character posters that were released alongside The Judge From Hell Season 2 production announcement.
The Judge From Hell Season 2 has begun production with SBS and Season 1 is currently available on Disney+ and Hulu.
