Starseeker Astroneer Expeditions readies itself for lift-off. As part of the Nintendo Switch 2 showcase, bold space explorers System Era Softworks and inept ground controllers Devolver Digital announced that the Astroneer universe is expanding in a massive way next year.

Starseeker Astroneer Expeditions, a multiplayer-first adventure, will launch next year as a standalone experience. This new game is set within the 11m+ player-strong Astroneer universe and will launch in 2026 across Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

What to expect from Starseeker Astroneer Expeditions?

Starseeker Astroneer Expeditions will take players on a multiplayer voyage of discovery, cooperative expeditions and camaraderie across the cosmos. Exploring deep space on the ESS Starseeker, players will need to work together with the entire crew of the space station to complete planet-wide objectives across a multitude of star systems using cutting-edge technology.

Players will have an advanced set of tools at their disposal to tackle expeditions. At the same time, they face off with the unknown perils of space: fascinating creatures, hazardous flora and mysterious forces that await them.

The ESS Starseeker is the heart of the experience. At this persistent, ever-evolving space station, players get together to plan expeditions, upgrade their capabilities and hang out with other space adventurers. Starseeker places player freedom at the forefront, but a larger story lies in wait for those curious enough to uncover it.

Visit starseekergame.com and look to the skies for a special Starseeker Astroneer Expeditions broadcast later this year.

More about the Astroneer Universe

Starseeker is a brand new game set within the Astroneer universe but is not an Astroneer sequel or Astroneer 2. According to the team at Devolver Digital, Astroneer will continue to live on with more updates and content for years to come.

That said, there might be some similarities between the two games based on what players can do. Astroneer is set during the 25th century’s Intergalactic Age of Discovery, where Astroneers explore the frontiers of outer space, risking their lives in harsh environments to unearth rare discoveries and unlock the mysteries of the universe. Players can work together to build custom bases and vehicles and use terrain to create anything they can imagine. A player’s creativity and ingenuity are the keys to thriving on exciting planetary adventures!
