The anime My Happy Marriage is a Japanese-style Cinderella story of Miyo, a Giftless girl born into a prestigious Gifted household, oppressed by her family, and is sent to marry the current head of the Kudo family, Kiyoka, rumored to be a “ruthless soldier,” having had all his previous fiancées flee from him.

The first season, released in July 2023, entered the TOP 10 in the Netflix Weekly Global TOP 10 (Non-English TV Series) for seven consecutive weeks and ranked in Today’s TOP 10 Series in 71 countries and regions, becoming a hot topic that attracted attention worldwide.

While an OVA was released to fill in the time between the first and second seasons, new news is here to get fans amped up! Ahead of the long-awaited start of the second season, a dramatic key visual specially illustrated by Kinema citrus, featuring Miyo and Kiyoka, has been unveiled. In addition, a promotional commercial including new scenes has been completed, featuring the first unveiling of the new character, Kaoruko Jinnouchi, voiced by Haruka Tomatsu.

The theme songs have also been announced; continuing from the first season are artists riria. and Kashitaro Ito, performing the opening theme, “shiawasenayakusoku,” and ending theme, “Tsukikage Okuri,” respectively. riria.’s 1st major full-length album, “Kiseki,” which includes the theme song, has also announced a My Happy Marriage anime collaboration album cover.

The new character coming to My Happy Marriage

My Happy Marriage Season 2

With a brand-new season comes the arrival of new characters who may or may not present challenges ahead for our beloved couple. The new character, Kaoruko Jinnouchi, was unveiled in the latest promotional commercial. She is a member of the Special Anti-Grotesquerie Unit’s Second Platoon. Kaoruko Jinnouchi was selected as the only female member due to her superior Gift and used to be stationed in Kiyoka’s unit.

Haruka Tomatsu will be voicing the brand-new character. When asked about her thoughts on Kaoruko Jinnouchi, she said, “Despite being the only female in an all-male environment, being made to feel inferior, and being the target of snide remarks, I think that Kaoruko is really cool for having an honest and unwavering spirit, in addition to being physically strong. I’m very happy to have been able to voice her!”

With her meeting Miyo, you’ll be able to see Kaoruko’s cute and playful side, which she probably hasn’t shown anyone before. I hope that you’ll look forward to seeing the gap between Kaoruko in work mode and in her private life!”

It won’t be long before viewers can experience Kaoruko Jinnouchi in all of her glory. Based on the new commercial, she seems to be okay so far, but there’s always something underneath the surface in this series.

What’s happening in My Happy Marriage Season 2

Born into a prestigious family of “supernatural abilities” yet lacking that Gift, Miyo, a girl oppressed by her family, is sent to marry the current head of the Kudo family, Kiyoka. Kiyoka is rumored to be a “ruthless soldier,” having had all his previous fiancées flee from him. It began as a political marriage that everyone predicted would end unhappily.

However, in Season 1, Kiyoka’s heart is melted by Miyo’s honest sincerity, and Miyo, in turn, is warmed by Kiyoka’s inherent kindness. “I want to be my husband’s pillar of strength.” Having come to wish so, Miyo awakens the “Dream Sight,” her Gift, which her late mother sealed out of her deep love for Miyo. She manages to save Kiyoka in his time of need. Finding happiness through each other’s presence, they vowed to live together forever.

However, despite planning to hold their wedding next spring, their peaceful days are threatened by an unexpected turn of events in My Happy Marriage Season 2. Invited by Kiyoka’s father, Tadakiyo, the two make their way to the mansion where he retired, only to face scathing criticism from Kiyoka’s mother, Fuyu. Miyo struggles to be recognized as a “wife of the Kudo family,” not knowing the reason for the suspicious looks that surround her.

At the same time, in the vicinity of the mansion, several sightings of “friends” were reported, and upon that investigation, Kiyoka engaged in battle with the “Gifted Communion,” a sect that plotted to overthrow the country.

“A disaster is coming.”

The curtain opens on a new incident that shakes the peace of the Imperial Capital. Will the two be able to reach a blessed future? We’ll have to watch Season 2 to find out.
