NEXON and Neople unveiled a new boss trailer showcasing the monstrous ‘Viper’ players will encounter in their highly-anticipated hardcore action RPG The First Berserker: Khazan (Khazan). Additionally, the studio shared all-new details on its Technical Closed Beta, such as available missions, new weapons, and more, which players can jump into via PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X starting Friday, October 11, until Sunday, October 20, 2024. Those interested in signing up for next week’s Closed Beta can do so until October 6, with detailed instructions on the official website.

The First Berserker: Khazan is a hardcore action role-playing game developed by Neople and is available for PC via Steam, PlayStation5 (PS5), and Xbox Series X | S in early 2025. The player will become Khazan, the great general of the Pell Los Empire, who overcame death and set out to reveal the incidents that led to his downfall and seek vengeance on his enemies. Survive the relentless pursuit of imperial forces, navigate conspiracies aimed at killing Khazan, and overcome the harsh environments encountered.

The new trailer features the massive draconic beast Viper tracing Khazan’s steps through the castle after he has decimated his army. By the end, the two come face to face before launching into combat. Viper is the head of the Dragonkin, which was defeated and sharply declined following the Hismar Conquest and has continued to seek revenge against humankind ever since.

The Technical Closed Beta features three of the game’s chapters, resulting in up to 10 hours of gameplay content that begins with the stages recently shown at both gamescom and Tokyo Game Show.

Console players admitted to the Closed Beta will get to experience:

  • Three exciting missions taking place in:

Heinmach – The pathway from the empire to the Stru Mountains, where Khazan is freed from his prison

Stormpass – One of the sacred sites of Bantu, revered since ancient times

Embars – The remnants of a once-major temple

  • Hardcore action gameplay with various weapons, including a greatsword, spear, and dual-wielded axe and sword
  • Collecting multiple types of gear and items to equip and craft throughout the adventure
  • An immersive revenge story as Khazan, the former hero of the Pell Los Empire, embarks on a path of vengeance after his fall.

Players can keep tabs on all things The First Berserker: Khazan by following via X and watching for more on YouTube. Players can also wishlist the game via the title’s website here and sign up to be notified of upcoming news.
