Love After World Domination Episode 3

Love After World Domination is a romantic comedy anime produced by Project No. 9. With their budding relationship moving forward despite their work setting them at odds, Fudo and Desumi prepare for their next big step. They are going to go on their first date. But Fudo soon realizes he doesn’t know the first thing about dating. Can he decipher the truth about dating in Love After World Domination Episode 2?

This episode opens with a quick little flashback to when Fudo and Desumi first met. While it doesn’t add much to their story, it is fun to see Fudo becoming smitten by his new love for the first time. Fast-forward to the present, and we find our star duo still sneaking off during battles to get some precious alone time. When the two’s private moment is interrupted by the battle’s conclusion, Fudo ends up giving an impromptu interview that leads to some unexpected places.

Fudo’s stumbling through his interview is a fun sequence in Love After World Domination Episode 2. The young man’s lack of experience in front of the camera delivers an endearing moment for the protagonist. It also allows the viewer to get to know one of the other members of the Gelato 5, Misaki Jinguuji.

Misaki’s introduction gives her the air of a playful big sister to Fudo. While there is a bit of teasing done at his expense, it all feels as if it is in good humor. She seems like a fun addition to the show’s growing cast.

Prompted by one of the questions asked during his interview, Desumi shares that she wants to go on an actual date with Fudo. Instead of just sneaking around battlefields with him. While Fudo gladly agrees to take her, he quickly realizes he doesn’t know the first thing about dates. As his life has been filled with working out and saving the world, he has no experience in the matter. Maybe the internet or a surrogate big sister can enlighten him?

What Fudo ultimately comes up with for his first date with Desumi and her reaction to his choices rolls perfectly with the show’s general energy and tone. Fudo’s plans are certainly unique, but they come from the heart. The couple’s experience certainly lives up to the episode’s title as they both learn the truth about dating.

The visuals continue to do a strong job of delivering the show’s heartfelt antics well. From the embarrassing to the charming, both Fudo and Desumi’s best moments are always brought to the viewer with just the right visual touch.

When it all comes together, Love After World Domination Episode 2 delivers another wonderful episode full of light humor and endearing moments. Fudo and Desumi continue to grow into an adorable pair, and I find myself looking forward to whatever sweet antics the pair will get into next.

Love After World Domination Episode 2 is streaming now on Crunchyroll.
