Dead by Daylight: The Stranger Things Chapter 2 is here. Stranger Things has had a massive cultural impact. I mean, even when Rueben Bain Jr., the star defensive lineman for the University of Miami, told sideline reporters that he just wanted to go home to watch the series finale after beating Ohio State in the College Football Playoffs. And with Dead by Daylight: Stranger Things Chapter 2, players will get the chance to see the pop culture favorites in-game for a second time.

Following the conclusion of one of the most-watched series of the past decade, Stranger Things characters live on in The Entity’s Realm. Starting now, via Dead by Daylight’s Steam Public Test Build and officially launching on January 27, Dead by Daylight: Stranger Things Chapter 2 expands The Fog’s roster of Hawkins characters.

“When Stranger Things first joined Dead by Daylight, it felt like a milestone,” Dead by Daylight Creative Director Dave Richard shared via a press release. “Seeing the franchise return – and evolve – is something special for us. This new Chapter doesn’t just celebrate the show; it deepens the connection between two worlds that share a love for nostalgia, mystery, and horror.”

What is Dead by Daylight Stranger Things Chapter 2?

Dead by Daylight: Stranger Things Chapter 2

One of Dead by Daylight’s most beloved crossovers, the Stranger Things Chapter first debuted in 2019. With both fanbases embracing coming into The Fog as Nancy Wheeler and Steve Harrington fought to escape The Demogorgon within The Entity’s recreation of the Hawkins National Laboratory.

Now, Stranger Things Chapter 2 is transforming one of the game’s most successful releases into one of its most anticipated follow-ups. The connection between the Upside Down and The Entity’s Realm has never been stronger.

Vecna, The First: The First can bend the world around him, manifesting and weaponizing the physical presence of the Upside Down within The Fog. Vecna can also disappear beneath the ground, reemerging to curse anyone within his path.

Survivors

Jane “Eleven” Hopper and Dustin Henderson join the roster, which currently consists of Nancy and Steve. The four Survivors can also count on some much-needed backup thanks to Legendary Outfits of Jonathan Byers from the original Stranger Things Chapter, and newcomers Eddie Munson (Legendary for Dustin) and Robin Buckley (Legendary for Nancy).

Can I start playing Dead by Daylight today?

Dead by Daylight: Stranger Things Chapter 2

If you aren’t familiar, Dead by Daylight, developed by Behaviour Interactive, is an asymmetrical multiplayer experience that pits survivors against a killer. In the game, you are trapped forever in a realm of eldritch evil, and play as either one of four determined Survivors or the bloodthirsty Killer hunting them.

Initially released in 2016, this asymmetrical horror game has continuously expanded its roster of characters to include countless iconic horror properties from film, television, gaming, and beyond. Because of its large player base, jumping into new games is easy, and with so many collaborations, there is bound to be something to pull you in.

If you’re a fan of Stranger Things, there is no better time to jump in than now, and with a small learning curve, the title is one of the easier asymmetrical horror titles to jump into fresh.

What is the Dead by Daylight: Stranger Things Chapter 2 release date?

Players can head into the new collaboration today via the Steam Public Test Server. However, Dead by Daylight: Stranger Things Chapter 2 releases officially on January 27th.
