Nexon America’s Mabinogi has almost hit the big 2-0, a feat that feels rare in the games industry right now. The fantasy adventure MMORPG’s global community has been one of its driving forces, and now, it’s celebrating its 18th anniversary.
The global publisher has announced that to commemorate the milestone, Mabinogi is rolling out three weeks of in-game events, special rewards, and community-driven stats revealing key player milestones. The rise of community events with live tracking has become a favorite of mine, especially with titles like Palia, which make it a regular occurrence at every seasonal update. With Mabinogi, this also serves as a sign of the game’s impact 18 years after its launch.

Mabinogi by the Numbers
Having debuted in North America in 2008, Mabinogi has been able to build a global community. One fun stat is that the longest-active player, who has been adventuring since March 2008 and has reached a cumulative level of 1,000,000. Additionally, the information shared by Nexon America was also highlighted on fan and in-game fashion lover: Fadingjade. This player has hand-drawn over 1,400 portrait sketches of fellow players that she has encountered in-game.
The other stats shared with press via a release show a snapshot of the MMO’s community:

- Over 15 Million items sold in the Auction House
- Over 900 Thousand total player Titles earned
- 600 unique Pet types
- 393 Pets Owned by a Single Player

What’s coming for the Mabinogi 18th Anniversary Event?
Nexon America also shared details about the upcoming three weeks of in-game festivities. Throughout the celebration, players can look forward to surprise login bonuses, limited-time giveaways, and community events. Outside of the surprises, however, Nexon America also provided specific details.
The primary event, “A Gift of Mysterious Magic,” will run from today (March 19, 2026) through Thursday, April 9, 2026, and invites players to meet Leath in the Library of Secrets for a new story questline. Players will also be able to play mini-games hosted by Booksprites and earn milestone rewards through daily, weekly, and achievement challenges.
Additional anniversary activities include:
- Stamp Sprint: Players complete Leath’s flyer challenge for collectible rewards
- GM’s 18th Anniversary Hotday Event: Offers players exclusive items such as GM’s favorite dye selection boxes, Fields of Fancy Chair, twirl gesture cards, title coupons, and more
- Limited-time Anniversary Sales Event: This will feature gachas and special in-game discounts.

Released in North American in 2008, Mabinogi is a free-to-play MMORPG. Like many in the genre, this fantasy MMORPG features anime-inspired heroes, but unlike others, it offers thousands of customization options, including hairstyles, facial features, and outfits.
When you play, you’ll select from dozens of talents ranging from professional gunslingers and archers to musicians, tailors, and cooks to build your player, and with 18 years of content, players are expected to tackle the game their way as an adventurer but also by learning trades.
The Mabinogi 18th Anniversary event is currently running and will end on April 9, 2026.
