If you don’t know what Lycoris Recoil is, well, you probably don’t follow Hideo Kojima on social media. But for those who adore the sci-fi GL anime and video games, this news is for you. Publisher Level Infinite and developer SHIFT UP launched the collaboration between Lycoris Recoil and GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE.

If you’re not familiar, GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE is a third-person shooter ARPG in the gacha style. And this new Lyrcois Recoil collaboration brings with it a new original storyline featuring the girls of Café LycoReco, new outfits, an exclusive Music Mini Game, and more.

For those who haven’t seen the series the official Lycoris Recoil synopsis is below:

These peaceful days harbor a secret. DA (Direct Attack) is a secret organization that prevents crime before it happens. Its agents are girls known as “Lycoris.” Their ordinary daily lives are made possible thanks to them. One of the DA’s branches is the Café “LycoReco,” where elite Nishikigi Chisato, renowned as the strongest Lycoris of all time, and Inoue Takina, a talented but troubled Lycoris, work. The orders they receive range from coffee and sweets to childcare, shopping assistance, and Japanese language instruction for foreigners—all uncharacteristic of a Lycoris. The free-spirited, optimistic, and pacifist Chisato and the cool, efficiency-driven Takina are about to embark on a crazy, mismatched life.

What is new in GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE x Lycroris Recoil?

The largest new addition to NIKKE with this collab is the new storyline, titled “Cause Recoil.” The goal with this new NIKKE storyline is to bring Café LycoReco vibes to the Outpost. And to do so, players will be able to explore areas inspired by the anime, including Kurumi’s private room to enter the new collaboration storyline.

This new storyline introduces three Lycoris Recoil‘s Chisato, Takina, and Kurumi, as they join the Nikkes of Cafe Sweety to defeat an unknown assailant. You can read more about the new characters below with descriptions provided by SHIFT UP via media release:

  • SSR Chisato Nishikigi: She is known as the “Strongest Lycoris Agent of All Time.” She enjoys solving problems faced by the private sector that DA cannot handle. She is the self-proclaimed “poster girl” at Café LycoReco, and is always cheerful and energetic.
  • SSR Takina Inoue: She was once an excellent Lycoris agent but was assigned to Café LycoReco due to special circumstances. She is rational, hates waste, and is sometimes frustrated by Chisato’s “un-Lycoris-like behavior,” but she has a strong desire to achieve results at work. She is known for her calm and collected fighting style.
  • SR Kurumi: A mysterious girl who is the true identity of the strongest hacker, “Walnut.” Although she looks young, her age is unknown, as she can hold adult conversations on equal footing. To escape her pursuers, she temporarily hides in Café LycoReco.

The collaboration also features a new mini-game: Lyco Reco Beats. This new rythmn game gives players another avenue to accumulate rewards in addition to the standard event rewards and login bonus.

  • Kurumi Login Bonus: Log in during the event to claim SR Kurumi for free as well as recruitment tickets, training materials, and more!
  • DA Outfits & More: Complete event quests to earn free Sportswear Costumes for Chisato and Takina. Premium costumes are also available via the Event Pass.
  • Training Support: Exclusive materials, recruitment tickets, and icon frames are being distributed to ensure the new squad is battle-ready from Day One.

New Campaign Chapters & Solo Raid Museum Update

Like with most titles, this collaboration is only one part of the larger update. This update includes access to the new chapters 43 and 44, and the Solo Raid Museum, which adds Hall 2. This new addition features three bosses to take on (Alteisen, Modernia, and Storm Bringer).

This update also made improvements to allow players to preview details of the weekly buff to be applied and also allowed players to view the duration of the current weekly buff.

Additionally, for players looking for more challenge, this update also allows players to switch to Challenge Mode even after unlocking No Limit Mode.

GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE is available now on PC, iOS, and Android mobile devices.
