Netflix’s Culinary Class Wars Season 2, scheduled to premiere on December 16, 2025, and promises to be even bigger than the last. The announcement also came with our first look into the chaos of the kitchen with a teaser trailer and a new official poster.

Culinary Class Wars Season 2 will once again feature a fierce competition between elite “white spoon” chefs and skilled “black spoon” non-celebrity chefs. The concept of spoons refers to the Korean spoon class theory as much as mentioning utensils you’d find in the kitchen. But if this season is anything like last year’s, white or black, the spoons don’t matter, just the raw talent they’re bringing to the table.

This sophomore season will also feature two returning judges: Paik Jong-won and Ahn Sung-jae.

Our critic had this to say about Season 1, “Culinary Class Wars is another successful reality series on Netflix. Aided by a talented group of competitors who all bring an eclectic edge to their style and creativity as chefs, it’s an easy binge that makes the more culinary curious inclined to try and step up their repertoire in the kitchen.”

What is Culinary Class Wars Season 2?

Culinary Class Wars Season 2 poster

Culinary Class Wars is a cooking competition series that initially brought together 100 chefs to battle for a grand prize of 300 million won ($223,000 USD). The show’s core concept is a dramatic clash of culinary classes, pitting the highly trained and established “white spoon” professionals (often with Michelin Stars) against the self-taught, underdog “black spoon” chefs.

Culinary Class Wars Season 2 is expected to intensify this rivalry, as suggested by the teaser, which highlights the competitors and the poster, which showcases the chaos of the kitchen as contestants go head-to-head. The program is widely recognized for the dramatic tension it’s been able to create by leaning into the culinary class struggle.

The competition will feature an all-star lineup of celebrity chefs joining the ranks of the “white spoon” elite to defend their status against the “black spoon” underdogs. As of right now, we know some of who will be on the White Spoons’ side:

  • Michelin 2-Star chef Lee Jun
  • Michelin-starred chef Son Jong-won
  • Korea’s first master of temple cuisine, Venerable Sunjae
  • Chinese cuisine master Hou Deok-juk

What is the release date?

The second season of Culinary Class Wars will stream exclusively on Netflix beginning December 16, 2025.
