One of our Best of PAX Wes 2026 games, Ambrosia Sky: Act One, is out now on PC via Steam and the Epic Game Store. Developed by the Toronto-based studio, Soft Rains, Act One is just the start of the first-person sci-fi adventure and immersive sim, with Acts Two and Three following this release sometime in 2026.

In our PAX preview of Ambrosia Sky, our critic said, ” Even on the crowded and noisy showfloor of PAX, it was touching. If you are looking for just the right mix of zen, sci-fi mystery, and catharsis, you might want to check out Ambrosia Sky when it arrives on Steam.”

Soft Rains is developing Ambrosia Sky with the support of the Vancouver-based studio, Blackbird Interactive (known for Hardspace: Shipbreaker). Soft Rains boasts veteran talent who have worked on AAA titles like Skyrim, Grindstone, Fallout 3, Fallout 4, VALORANT, and Left 4 Dead. Additionally, Blackbird Interactive also has a large number of games industry veterans who previously worked at Relic Entertainment and Electronic Arts and currently offer development support for Mojang Studios, Blizzard Entertainment, and many more.

What is Ambrosia Sky about?

In Ambrosia Sky, you play as Dalia, a field scientist belonging to an enigmatic order that is in the pursuit of human immortality. Dalia is returning home, dispatched to a farming colony on Saturn’s outer rings.

But when she arrives, Dalia finds that it has been abandoned and overrun by hostile fungi. Everyone she knew and loved is either dead, missing, or perhaps complicit in the growing fungi. As Dalia, you will work to cleanse the contamination, discover the truth, and lay the dead to rest.

What will you play in Act One?

The first act of Dalia’s homecoming story is a narrative-first immersive sim. Ambrosia Sky Act One is all about getting acquainted with the game’s approach to sci-fi. The developers have aimed to make a “mind-bending world of death, decay, and what comes after.” As Dalia, you will be armed with a chemical sprayer and grappling hook as you take on the alien growths spreading across the colony.

The title is fully voice-acted, featuring multiple mission types across various locations, all while attempting to annihilate the unique strains of harvestable fungus and collect some for a progression loop based on crafting.  Soft Rains has shared a list of key game features via a press release.

You can read through those key features below:

  • Ambrosia Sky’s unique gameplay blends FPS action with meditative cleaning. Cleanse alien fungus with your chemical sprayer, harvest its fruit, and upgrade your gear to survive the spreading crisis.
  • Each species of alien fungus has unique behaviors and properties – some explode, others electrify, and some will even hunt you down.
  • Craft new ammo types that mimic the abilities of fungus you encounter. Upgrade your sprayer’s efficiency, create new spray types, or enhance your tether to better navigate and explore the unstable gravity fields of the colony.

  • Traverse treacherous pockets of unstable gravity throughout the Cluster. Use your tether to grab objects, uncover hidden corners of the colony, and explore environments where unpredictable fluctuations in gravity can change direction and strength at any time.
  • Seek out the tragic victims of the crisis and lay them to rest in poignant scenes that unravel the mystery of what happened and why.

What is the Ambrosia Sky release date?

Ambrosia Sky: Act One launches today with a limited-time launch week discount of 15% off on Steam and Epic Games Store. The next two acts of the game will be released some time in 2026 from Soft Rains.
