At NYCC 2025, Lucasfilm Publishing showcased the next wave of Star Wars stories spanning art, novels, and comics, proving that even in a galaxy far, far away, there’s still new ground to explore. Moderated by Jennifer Heddle, the panel brought together Charles Soule, Ethan Sacks, Adam Christopher, Kristin Baver, Kwame Mbalia, and Marc Guggenheim, each unveiling how Star Wars continues to evolve: across timelines, media, and generations.
Star Wars: Visions – Tsukumo
By: Eiichi Shimizu & Tomohiro Shimoguchi
On Sale: July 14, 2026 | Viz Media
The creative DNA of Star Wars: Visions comes full circle with Tsukumo, a new manga by the acclaimed Ultraman team. Where it began as anime inspired by Star Wars, Tsukumo reverses the process: animation re-inspires manga.
Set in the wake of Order 66, it follows a lone Jedi and two droids searching for a “Droids’ Paradise” while being hunted by the Empire. It’s visually arresting and conceptually poetic: the medium that inspired Star Wars has now been re-inspired by it.
It’s also proof that Visions has staying power; it’s no longer a side experiment, but a growing creative branch of Star Wars storytelling that embraces reinterpretation and artistic freedom.

This is part of a growing trend where even experimental Star Wars media gets a deeper lore backbone. Beyond Victory demonstrates that, whether through headset or page, Star Wars continues to merge its cinematic and interactive DNA seamlessly.

Jar Jar Binks #1
By: Ahmed Best & Marc Guggenheim
On Sale: February 11, 2026 | Marvel Comics
Actor Ahmed Best and writer Marc Guggenheim team up for a one-shot no one expected, Jar Jar Binks #1. The story pairs Jar Jar with Kelleran Beq, Best’s Jedi character from The Mandalorian and Jedi Temple Challenge.
It’s both chaotic and poetic: two of Best’s alter egos sharing the same page. Jar Jar’s legacy has always been complicated, but Best writing his own redemption arc is something special. It’s a reclaiming of narrative: both for the actor and the character.
Star Wars: Eyes Like Stars
By: Ashley Poston
On Sale: Summer 2026 | Disney Lucasfilm Press
Star Wars hasn’t had a true romance novel since Lost Stars, but Ashley Poston is here to change that. Known for her emotional honesty and character depth, Poston brings her signature warmth to a new love story set about 18 months before The Force Awakens.
It’s a return to the galaxy’s softer side, one where hope, heartbreak, and connection drive the story as much as lightsabers and starships. The sequel era continues to expand, and Eyes Like Stars feels like the perfect bridge between emotional intimacy and galactic scale.
Star Wars: Jedi Knights #8–9
By: Marc Guggenheim
On Sale: October 22 & November 19, 2025 | Marvel Comics
Guggenheim’s Jedi Knights continues to grow into one of the most thoughtful ongoing Star Wars comics. Jedi Knights #8 follows Soona Taj, a young Force-sensitive girl whose kidnapping by pirates unfolds through her perspective — an intimate, sensory experience that lets readers “feel” the Force.
Jedi Knights #9 explores Corlis Rath, a dark figure chasing Qui-Gon Jinn, with Count Dooku in a supporting role. Together, these issues add emotional complexity to an era often remembered only for spectacle.

The Art of Star Wars: The Acolyte
By: Kristin Baver
On Sale: January 13, 2026 | Abrams Books
The first High Republic story told in live action now gets its visual companion. Kristin Baver’s work celebrates the show’s world-building, character design, and costuming, offering fans a deep look into the artistry that brought this new era to life. NYCC 2025 attendees saw new concept art, including an extended look at the Stranger’s mask — one of the most striking designs in recent Star Wars memory.
But perhaps more importantly, The Art of Star Wars: The Acolyte serves as a keepsake for fans. Even if we never get a Season 2, this book immortalizes the creativity, care, and craftsmanship that went into the series. And in a time when Lucasfilm and Disney’s official channels have gone quiet about The Acolyte, it’s a gift to fans who still believe in what that show represented.
This year’s Lucasfilm Publishing slate feels united by one thing: legacy through creation.
From Visions’ manga revival to Roux’s emotional storytelling in Legacy, from Ahmed Best reclaiming Jar Jar to Baver keeping The Acolyte’s flame alive, every project carries a piece of Star Wars history forward.
And as always, the art books close the story the way Star Wars began: with imagination first.
