One World Under Doom Issue 8 is published by Marvel Comics and written by Ryan North, art by R. B. Silva, colors by David Curiel, and letters by Travis Lanham.

With the combined might of the forces unable to stop Doom, the one person he loves steps in.

This issue takes a swing at Earth’s Sorcerer Supreme from multiple angles. There’s the way that involves muscles and mutants trying to beat him physically, and when powers are involved. But Valeria Richards is also getting involved, attempting to reach Doom in her own way. It allows for an intellectual, calm discussion, which Doom will always allow Val to have.

Valeria is his goddaughter, and Doom will always be kind and loving towards the daughter of Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman. Still, North doesn’t fall into the trap of having Doom bow to her every whim, because his will and desire to conquer are even more powerful.

So the battle continues. The combined might of the Fantastic Four, Avengers, X-Men, and others is attacking with a selection of combinations and maneuvers. They’re powerful, intense, and Earth-shattering. But not enough to stop Doom. He has an answer for everything and is capable of doing almost anything he likes.

In One World Under Doom Issue 8, the emperor unleashes multiple moves that are horrifying. This comes to a disturbing, surprising end by the final page, with a reveal that is staggering in its violence.

One World Under Doom Issue 8 is a fantastic issue for both the villains and the heroes. It shows both sides of the war. The inventiveness and resilience of the characters are intriguing, like a constant game of trying to outplan the other. The battle is incredible fun. Some criticism had been leveled at this event because the cast of heroes has been ineffective and inconsistent. But here, the resistance force seems much bigger and noisier. There are numerous possibilities and combinations.

The narration from Doom is fascinating, as it explains how the heroes are attacking him. Because he’s so calm about it, knowing that whatever they have planned can’t stop him. The discussion with Valeria is similar to their previous one, but with a different topic. Doom’s method of ruling has changed, and the discussion now centers on consent and coercion, marking a different journey from how it began. North’s ability to switch between super heroics and informed conversations about the intricacies of ruling is always exceptional.

The art is phenomenal, relishing the ridiculous nature of the battle. There are so many super-powered beings, all eager to contribute to the action. It’s not senseless either, as battle plans are being drawn up. In the middle of that maelstrom is Doom, battered by ice, fire, and anything else the heroes have.

Throughout the onslaught, Doom looks regal and unfazed. Any damage he takes is healed almost instantly, no matter how much he is sent flying across the battlefield. Even the conversation with Valeria has spectacular visions, making sure that no panel is ever dull.

There is a sensational vibrancy to the colors. They’re especially gorgeous in the interaction between Val and Doom. They are presented in pure, stunning gold, whilst surrounded by a sea of blue. Then in the battle, the colors are bewildering. It’s a storm of the most intense tones imaginable. The fire and powers of the heroes clash with the green of Doom’s magic. The lettering is spectacular, with massive sound effects that enhance the fight scene.

One World Under Doom Issue 8 depicts a ruler who refuses to relent. Doom is not your everyday event villain. This is a man who is usually unstoppable, who is now even more powerful. He’s terrifying, and seemingly without weakness. Even Valeria can’t tap into his vulnerability. He is both the villain and the hero of this story. He’s everything and all-powerful. The battle is unbelievably breathtaking from the start, and isn’t even finished by the end. And the colors and characters feel like a lone letter to classic Marvel Comics.

One World Under Doom Issue 8 is available where comics are sold.
