Wargaming is poised to launch the most significant update in World of Tanks history with the arrival of Update 2.0. This transformative overhaul introduces brand-new Tier XI tanks, a completely redesigned Hangar and user interface, a story-driven PvE mode, and a comprehensive rebalancing of hundreds of vehicles.

Players can get a glimpse of the new content in the World of Tanks 2.0 trailer, which debuted at gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live.

What does World of Tanks 2.0 Mean for the game?

Update 2.0 is more than just a content drop; it’s a foundational change for the game. According to Michael Broek, Publishing Director West for World of Tanks, this update will “define World of Tanks development for years to come.” The update is the culmination of two years of hard work, aiming to deliver a fresh experience for new, returning, and veteran players alike.

What’s New in Update 2.0?

  • Introduction of Tier XI Tanks: 16 new Tier XI vehicles join the fray, each with unique gameplay mechanics and a new progression system.
  • Comprehensive Rebalance of Tanks: Over 350 vehicles across all tiers have been reworked to create smarter roles and fairer gameplay.
  • Brand New Hangar: Your Hangar is now a tank factory where vehicles are assembled and equipped, always ready for battle.
  • Enhanced UI: A new, streamlined, and more informative user interface.
  • New Matchmaker: Built from the ground up for faster queues, better team balance, and more dynamic battles.
  • New Map: Nordskar, a new Scandinavian map long requested by the community, is now available.
  • PVE Event: “Operation Boiling Point” sets the stage for the arrival of Tier XI vehicles in a story-driven event on a brand-new battlefield.
  • Sound Upgrade: Heavier, more authentic tank sounds recorded from real vehicles and a more immersive soundscape bring every battle to life.
