The movie follows Mavi (Beritan Balcı), a young woman raised in Hamburg, who receives a surprise trip to Turkey from her boyfriend Can (Sinan Güleç). Unbeknownst to her, Can plans to propose during the trip, but his attempt goes awry.

Upon their arrival in Istanbul, Mavi is shocked to discover a wealthy family she never knew existed—an influential business dynasty that has already made plans for their newfound heiress. She Said Maybe, a blend of German and Turkish culture, explores the drama and comedic chaos that ensues when Mavi’s two worlds collide.
