Everyone loves a good surprise, and this one is from our favorite titles from Summer Game Fest Play Days: Lumines Arise. Enhance, the award-winning game developer and publisher behind Tetris Effect: Connected, announced that the Lumines Arise demo is available now to play on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam for a limited time.

This demo gives players a first-ever public look at the new Burst Battle multiplayer mode and a taste of the single-player experience. The full game is set to launch on November 11, 2025, and shadow-dropping a demo is the perfect way to get players excited for the game.

About the game, our critic said in their hands-on preview: “Lumines Arise was one of the best games I played at Summer Game Fest 2025. While I enjoy a good puzzle game, what sets this game apart is the sensory experience it creates for players. Being able to capture everything through sight and sound made everything feel very surreal, even if all you are doing is making 2×2 Blocks.”

What is Lumines Arise?

A reinvention of the puzzle classic Lumines from the creators of Tetris Effect: Connected, where sound pulses through your body, mind, and every block you place, triggering dazzling visuals synced to the driving beat of an infectious, eclectic soundtrack.

The game will include 35 stages with everything from lush jungles to buzzing neon streets to more surreal experiences, matching blocks and crafting insane combos with the all-new Burst mechanic, which, when triggered, stops a matched Square from clearing.

Mix it up with a variety of other single-player modes and challenges, or test your mettle against friends or strangers in online multiplayer. The selling point of the title however, is how easy it promises to be regarless of how much time you have on your hands.

The official synopsis for the game states that “Whether you’re looking to get hyped up or chill out, new to the series or a veteran, have an hour to kill or just five minutes, want to play solo, with friends, or challenge strangers, or play in optional VR or stunning 4K, Lumines Arise is the ultimate puzzle game.”

How long does the Lumines Arise demo run?

From today, August 26, 2025 through September 3, 2025, you can download and play the demo for Lumines Arise. And more importantly, test out the game’s cross-platform online multiplayer mode called Burst Battle. In this mode,  players go head-to-head with friends or other players.

But if you’re not into PVP, the Lumines Arise demo also includes a portion of the single-player Journey Mode, with three stages available to play.
