Blade has arrived in Marvel Rivals, and he is looking to cut straight through enemy lines. But as the Daywalker slices and dices, he’ll need allies that help sustain and support him as he pushes payloads and fights for points. Luckily, there are quite a number of companions that fit the bill nicely.
Each of the following Marvel Rivals characters coheses strongly with Blade’s playstyle. This gives them a way to amplify what they do best while also boosting Blade. This synergy enables the characters to have a greater impact together than they would individually.
Captain America
Captain America is a frustratingly difficult foe to knock down. His great durability allows him to wade into enemy lines, disrupting plans and harassing support units. This resiliency is in no small part thanks to his Ultimate, which grants him and nearby units bonus health. This bonus health works fantastically with Blade.
Many of Blade’s best abilities hinder the effects of outside healing on him. However, bonus health isn’t healing, which means you can benefit from the full effect of Cap’s ultimate no matter what state he’s in. This makes it a perfect support power for him.
Cap’s great movement and shielding can also further help keep Blade on his feet. Since he’ll be mixing it up with the enemy’s frontline right alongside the new character, he’ll be conveniently placed to help cover a hasty retreat if you find that a situation starts to get out of control.
Jeff The Land Shark
The lovable baby land shark serves as a fantastic support for Blade. The great range and near-constant healing he can provide can go a great distance in keeping you on your feet. His primary healing ability passes through friend and foe alike, meaning he can provide you support no matter how deep into a tussle he finds himself in.
Potentially even more helpful are his Healing Bubbles. Granting a 60 percent speed buff along with their heals, a few of these orbs, if well-placed, can help Blade get to wherever he needs to be on the battlefield, whether that’s chasing down an enemy or retreating from a losing fight.
Mister Fantastic
Another DPS that likes to wade into enemy lines, Mister Fantastic brings a bit of support and distraction to fights, helping Blade directly and indirectly. His ability to grant bonus health through his Flexible Elongation can be just the thing you need to keep yourself in a fight.
Depending on what enemy Fantastic targeted with the power, his sudden appearance right in front of those who were gunning for Blade could further help sustain his ally. And if his Reflexive Rubber ability is available, he’s likely far more capable of surviving the attention.
Mister Fantastic’s ultimate also works fantastically with Blade. (See what I did there?) With his rubbery body bouncing around the battlefield, opposing heroes are far less likely to keep their eyes on you. This can allow him to cause even more havoc as he lays into foes with sword and shotgun alike.
The Thing
Like most of the other entries in this list, Missus Grimm’s bouncy baby boy likes to mix it up in the front line. However, he can provide more than a body and some shields; he can also provide loads of opportunity thanks to his crowd control abilities.
Few characters can take enemies out of a fight for a spell like The Thing. He charges in and can leave enemies stunned, making them ripe targets for the Daywalker’s attacks. The pair’s ultimate can combine for a lethal, fight-winning combo. As The Thing stuns the opposition, Blade can line up his Thousand-Fold Slash on he helpless opponents, dealing damage and making them easy to finish off for the rest of their team.
These are four of the early front-runners to pair up with Blade. Their kits help the new DPS get the most out of his time on the battlefield. Whether it’s keeping him alive or disrupting enemies for him to target, these heroes feel great when they take the field with Blade.
Marvel Rivals is available to play now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
