What is Bon Appétit Your Majesty?

One part period piece, one part isekai, Bon Appétit, Your Majesty is based on the novel of the same name by  Park Kuk-Jae. This continues Netflix’s streak of adapting web novels and webcomics into hit Korean dramas.

Bon Appétit Your Majesty follows Chef Yeon Jiyoung (Lim Yoon-a), a French-trained chef who finds herself transported back in time to a royal palace. There, she is tasked with cooking for the infamously temperamental King Yeonhui (Lee Chae-min). The series combines elements of the past and present, focusing on Yeon Jiyoung’s struggle to survive in the royal kitchen and navigate palace politics.

  • Lim Yoon-a as Chef Yeon Jiyoung: A perfectionist, French-trained chef, suddenly transported to a royal palace. She is a modern woman caught in a cutthroat world of palace politics, survival cooking, and unexpected romance. Her mission? Survive the royal kitchen, win over the impossible King, and maybe, just maybe, rewrite the future.
  • Lee Chae-min as King Yeonhui: A cold-blooded ruler with a refined sense of taste and a demanding nature. His sharp mind and sharper tongue make him both feared and misunderstood. With an unparalleled sense of taste and zero tolerance for mediocrity, his court lives in fear of his next meal. But when a fiery new chef enters his palace, the king’s taste buds begin to change, and his heart does too.
