Publisher PlaySide Studios and developer Zugalu Entertainment have launched Thrive: Heavy Lies The Crown. Having been in Early Access already, this launch brings the 1.0 version to players. This medieval fantasy city-builder empowers players to rule their lands through impactful decision-making and real-time combat.

The 1.0 release incorporates a wealth of new features and quality-of-life enhancements, all developed during the game’s Early Access period. Players can now enjoy full Steam Achievement support, a significant visual fidelity overhaul, new militia units, citizen revolts, additional town buildings and structures, the brand-new ‘Influence’ system, various difficulty settings, and the option to disable narrative dialogue.

Thrive: Heavy Lies The Crown seamlessly blends in-depth city-building mechanics with high-stakes, real-time combat, and a robust decision-making system. Player choices directly dictate the growth of their Kingdom, the alliances they forge, and the enemies they create.

The game offers both a single-player experience and the ability to engage in up to four-player multiplayer. In the perilous realm of Nysamor, every choice carries significant consequences, shaping the very fate of the Kingdom.

  • Build and develop a Kingdom across multiple provinces, actively managing resources and the needs of citizens.
  • Collect and harvest resources, building a lasting legacy through effective planning and advancement via a detailed tech tree.
  • Place city structures, establish expansive road networks, construct formidable defenses, and assemble a powerful military to enforce the Kingdom’s will.
  • Secure the Kingdom’s reputation through choices within the narrative event system across three distinct Acts. These events demand tough decisions that can permanently alter the lives of the populace, the settlement, and the world around it.
  • Choose between a Benevolent or Tyrannical reign. A Benevolent ruler demonstrates compassion, while a Tyrannical ruler finds pleasure in exploitation. Each path offers unique gameplay advantages, challenges, and an aesthetic impact on your Kingdom.
  • Adventure in single-player for solo play or engage in up to four-player co-op or PvP multiplayer.
  • Siege castles, plunder trade routes, or confront fantastical Waelgrim creatures in intense RTS combat, either alongside or against other players.
