Sea of Remnants Gets A Gameplay Trailer Ahead of 2026 Launch

NetEase Games shared an initial look at gameplay for Sea of Remnants, a free-to-play ocean adventure RPG developed by Joker Studio. The game promises a captivating world for players to explore. It will launch on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam in 2026. This gameplay reveal follows the game’s official global announcement earlier this week during PlayStation’s State of Play

Regarding games shown during the Summer Game Fest weekend, Sea of Remnants stands out with its unique visual style. Following South of Midnight’s release, which embraced stop-motion animation, Sea of Remnants, and With No Words (which debuted during the SGF showcase), it’s clear the art style is setting up to make big waves moving forward. For its part, Sea of Remnants looks gorgeous, and the puppet artistry combined with diverse genre-blending combat is making it a game worth wishlisting.

What is Sea of Remnants?

Players in Sea of Remnants will step into the role of a puppet-like sailor who has lost their memories. Accompanied by a mysterious girl, players will journey across expansive seas, uncharted islands, and a city gradually revealing its secrets. Players can befriend, provoke, or eliminate key figures, dynamically shifting political landscapes and power structures.

Sea of Remnants will offer players more than enough to explore on the sea. As they set sail, players will discover drifting ships, unlock secrets, and investigate long-lost ruins influenced by the memory currents of past sailors. With naval combat, positioning, timing, and bold tactics will be crucial for survival. And on land, that strategy element continues with turn-based combat.

But Sea of Remnants isn’t just about what you do on the waves. Players can also unwind in the port city that offers both lively distractions and hidden opportunities to expand a crew and reputation.. However, a pirate‘s idea of relaxation often involves skirmishes, gambling with scoundrels, or checking out the latest buccaneer fashion. The recent gameplay trailer showcases island life, showcasing eccentric characters. But for those looking for adventure, the colossal sea beasts inhabit the turbulent waters that steal the show.
