Blizzard is powering up with Overwatch 2 Season 17, set to launch on June 24. The new season brings a wealth of content, including the first-ever dual Mythic skin drop at launch, a new “Map Voting” feature, significant updates to the “Stadium” PvP mode, and a stacked Battle Pass.

Stadium, Overwatch 2’s round-based PvP mode, is receiving a significant overhaul. Zenyatta, Sigma, and Junkrat are being added to the mode, alongside two new maps: Esperança and Samoa. Strategy will deepen with expanded build tools and the introduction of Stadium Forge, a new create/save/share system designed for players to test and refine their team compositions. This includes early and late-game example loadouts for every hero.

Overwatch 2 Season 17 will also feature the first-ever Stadium rank reset, offering a fresh start for all players. “Drives” will reward consistent performance, while “Custom Games” allow for personalized rulesets. Fresh All-Star rewards are also being added, making Stadium a prime testing ground for player mastery.

A brand-new Map Voting feature goes live at launch in both Quick Play and Competitive modes, empowering players to influence the battlefield. After role queue locks, players will be presented with three randomized map options. Each vote adds a 1-in-10 chance to that map’s odds, with the winner selected via a roulette-style roll.

To maintain fairness and avoid pressure, team chat, battle tags, and individual votes will be hidden. Additionally, leaver penalties will now kick in as soon as voting begins, ensuring players commit to their chosen match.

Overwatch 2 Season 17 is introducing three new maps

  • Aatlis: A vibrant new Flashpoint map for Core modes, showcasing Moroccan culture. Designed for tighter fights, cleaner rotations, and fast-paced momentum, it features lush gardens and luxury resort spaces.
  • Esperança: Returning to Stadium in a round-based format, this map introduces new elevation layers, allowing tactics to shift from round to round. It’s described as a Push map reimagined for Stadium’s unique format.
  • Samoa: The volcanic control point map from Samoa joins the Stadium pool. Expect open arenas, strong vertical play, and an ideal space for high-mobility compositions, perfect for third-person brawls or creative high-ground strategies.
Dual Mythics Arrive Day One Of Overwatch 2 Season 17

For the first time in Overwatch 2’s history, two Mythic skins will be available from day one, offering players more flexibility and customization options.

D.Va’s Mythic Horang Hero Skin: This skin reflects D.Va’s strength, channeling the spirit of the Siberian tiger. It features four evolving tiers with mythical VFX, thematic voice lines, and folklore-rooted customization options honoring the tale of Sister Sun and Brother Moon.

  • Level 1: Tiger armor and a hat with sleek, fierce white styling.
  • Level 2: Bun hairstyle with upgraded visuals in a cinnabar red colorway.
  • Level 3: Flex braids and a wild tiger mask in a pink-tinted colorway.
  • Level 4: Full tiger mode with ambient spirit energy, glowing effects, and radiating power flourishes.

Overwatch 2 Season 17 Reaper Skin

Reaper’s Mythic Steel Death Weapon Skin: This weapon skin embodies Reaper’s merciless presence. Its sharp edges are forged in soulfire and destruction, reflecting his wrath. These shotguns offer dark customizations and haunting details across four levels of visual depth and ferocity.

  • Level 1 Base: Brutal, sharp, soulfire-infused shotguns built for lethal precision.
  • Level 2 Reactivity: Weapons flare with dark energy as you deal damage.
  • Level 3 Flourish: Intricate glowing details surround your shotguns.
  • Level 4 Kill FX: Finish foes with haunting swirled shadows and sound effects embodying Reaper’s fury.

Both Mythics will be available at season launch through the Mythic Shop and are fully unlockable with 80 Mythic Prisms.
