  • Living Strategy View: This new default gameplay viewpoint merges detailed close-up perspectives with a broader strategic overview. It aims to let players manage cities, armies, and resources more easily while staying immersed in the game’s detailed environments.
  • Advanced Map Generator: Version 1.4 includes a major upgrade to the map generation, now featuring twice as many strategically distinct regions per map size. These improvements promise more intelligent resource distribution and better player starting positions, leading to expanded strategic depth and increased replayability. A newly updated Earth map will leverage these generation mechanics.

  • Strategy AI Player v2.0: The computer opponent’s AI systems have been extensively overhauled to provide more meaningful strategic competition, particularly in the late game. AI opponents are designed to make more nuanced decisions, optimize resources better, and challenge players with deeper strategic considerations.
  • Significant Micromanagement Reduction: Utilizing the new AI systems and citizen simulation, the game’s citizens can now automatically select items from the player’s inventory to self-supply their dwellings, shops, factories, and other buildings based on their needs. Players can toggle this automated feature or directly guide citizen behaviors using in-game Policies.
  • Battle System Improvements: Combat mechanics are now deeper, last longer, and are more transparent. A new Battle Viewer panel has been added to clearly explain battle outcomes and provide improved tactical clarity, helping players better understand and manage military encounters.
